The last 12 months have been contentious in the real world, and here in our digital escape, you could say that things have been equally rocky, albeit for wildly different reasons. While perhaps not the strongest year for new releases, 2021 still easily contends as one of the most interesting years in recent memory when it comes to the gaming industry itself, and PlayStation in particular. From PSVR2's promise and Sony going all-in on PC gaming to the sudden ending (and equally-sudden revival) of PS3's and Vita's storefronts and the mystery surrounding Blue Box, we have much to remember. And then there's the madness in the third party realm, from the major GeForce leak and troubling activity at Activision to GTA's disastrous reemergence and the reappearance of Six Days in Fallujah. We've much to talk about, so hit play and let's get to it.

Hey I have to say about cyberpunk conversation it's not only that it was buggy and they're fixing it but it's also that there's so many things missing from the game that they mentioned in events, for example the first montage that was all supposed to be playable but isn't, trains, police chases, buying houses and customizing etc. So many things missing so idk if the next gen updates would fix that.

The Chicken Chaser

Hit a deer listening to this episode, just wanted you guys to know. Like within the first 5 minutes of it being on lol

i just want to state a correction whether this arrives to yall or not. but dustin said that steam and playstation digital games could go extinct if something happened to the companies. but valve has a protocol in place if something were to happen to them where all users would still keep their libraries in case of a massive fallout! thanks guys 🖤

I just don’t understand the take that people will be mad if Microsoft buys another publisher crazy to see the show double down on this I know you preface it by saying you guys would feel the same way if PlayStation does it. Consolidation is happening regardless and there is plenty of evidence that it actually keeps many people and studios employed that other wise would shut down….and the case of Microsoft buying a publisher I welcome it and think many will would….could give 4-5 studios day 1 releases onto Gamepass for $15 a month the most consumer friendly thing imaginable.

EA losing the monopoly on Star Wars games..... Need I say more? Spot on

No sir Mr. Raygun. Core PlayStation users do not want crossplay with PC players. Once a games player base starts to dwindle, crossplay is a great thing to turn on and extend the life of an online experience. Otherwise, once is too many times for an exploit from a dirty cheater to ruin the game experience we signed up for when we spent $500 on our consoles. I have probably been killed legitimately 10 times by hackers in Warzone. Not a high percentage at all but it has completely ruined the game for me.

superbadisfunny .

Chris said it perfectly. As a predominately PC player is very annoyed to remember where the game is that you own whether it's epic launcher, gamepass, Ea etc. I was trying to play control but forgot where I owned it lol

Johnny Shoulder

Made me chuckle that Chris' number 1 PlayStation moment of the year was Halo multiplayer shadow dropping early on Xbox! 😂 But is something that is severely lacking from the Sony exclusive lineup. It is not something I am that interested in, but we have to look at the bigger picture sometimes.

Hey guys, it's actually episode 182 not 181

Non-PlayStation related comment: Alice In Chains chose to move on without Layne Staley so that Jerry Cantrell could continue to put on fantastic live shows and write new music and I’m glad they did as opposed to leaving the band dead. Their last 3 albums are pretty solid. I’ve seen them live twice and both shows are some of the best I’ve ever seen, I recommend seeing this band live if you get the chance.

I don't know why people keep saying you don't need FB for Quest 2. I bought one after hearing about it, and no you need FB to use the thing still. The issue is not addressed.

Let me preface this by saying that I really enjoy a lot of the LSM content. I think you guys misunderstand what Stadia is. I am a PlayStation gamer mostly, but a friend of mine bought me the stadia controller and Chromecast ultra black Friday deal recently. Google has done a terrible job explaining what this thing is. It is super impressive that you can go from no device on, to playing a AAA game at full 4k resolution, in 30 seconds. I also don't understand the argument that continually gets made on the show, about paying full price for a game and not being able to download it. Who cares about that. The only use case where that is a problem is when you don't have internet. Stadia games run at full resolution, at 60fps in many cases, on a very low bandwidth connection. I really do wish that people would try it before constantly taking a dump on it. Have any of the LSM guys actually tried it? I just think it's really hard to explain to people how easy, impressive and insane it is, without trying it. Sort of like VR.

Did WB not publish Cyberpunk? I havent played it since I beat it back in like January but I am pretty sure there was a WB Games splash screen on there when I booted it up, on Xbox anyway.

David Taylor

Look like they did distribution and marketing and that was why there was a logo.

LastStandMedia

I've not tried it, no. It's not something that interests me. I don't use PS Now, either, after all.

I'm not suggesting it's something that's going to set the world on fire, but the technology and concept is super impressive. It feels like something that's too good to be true, to be honest. I tried the Switch cloud thing on Control, and it was horrible compared to Stadia.

Andrew Arana

Stadia is 2 years old and still active. Still giving games through pro every month. And it still works the best for streaming.
