It's a big week for the Dukes! One of Xbox's most significant acquisitions in the last half decade is Obsidian Entertainment. They are an extremely talented studio that has been consistently worked over by every publisher they have worked alongside in some way, shape, or form and now with Microsoft's pockets backing them up they will aim to make a big splash with Avowed. While it has long been described as "Obsidian's Skyrim," we were never 100% sure... until now. Joining us to discuss a recent huge leak about Avowed is IGN's Ryan McCaffrey and the timing couldn't be better. Beyond that, we dive into PlayStation's recent insistence on reaching tens and hundreds of millions of gamers. Will they take Xbox's pathway to reach that number or is there something else they have in mind? That plus 20th Anniversary predictions, the pressing discussion on how long a $60 should be, and much more!

Glad to see the king Ryan McCaffrey on. Sad ACG wasn't here to mispronounce his name 36 times. Destin next? Bam!

Is gaming getting opened up to reach billions good for us the core gamer? I feel like games being designed to reach that many people will not prioritize art but people playing them as long and as easily as possible. I dont wanna game in world where focus is on touching as many people as possible as oppose to putting out the best possible art.

The crossover we needed.

I got the first three Splinter Cell games for the original Xbox on disc awhile ago. I haven't tried them yet, but I made sure they were backwards compatible before buying them at a used video games store. This is just speculation on my part: these games may not be available for digital purchase while still being backwards compatible. It would explain Cog's issue. I do have a backwards compatible Ubisoft game called R.U.S.E. for the Xbox 360. My RUSE disc works perfectly in my Xbox One S, but I know for a fact that RUSE was completely removed from the Microsoft digital storefront.

Awesome to have Ryan on.

Why at 39:30 does it sound like Satan is whispering “talk to him talk to him”? It sounds like cog but why would he be whispering under everyone chanting devil shit? lol but seriously I’m confused

Guys you need to go ahead and get that Bidet Achievement. You can't be walking around with the sour booty all day. Here is the order of operation when you gotta clean up. 1. Shower 2. Bidet 3. Wet wipe 4... 5... 6.. 7.. 8.. 9.. 10. Toilet paper.

Jeff Caseres

YOO what up Dukes, all of the Splinter Cell games are on Xbox backwards compat. You can buy and download on the Xbox and if you have the disc you can pop it in. There might have just been some issues on the mobile app which is what Lord was seeing but they are all available through the Xbox MS Store.

Jarett Davis

I would like to add that Double Agent even has its Xbox and Xbox 360 versions available, which are 2 different games. The Splinter Cell series were some of the games included in the very last backwards compatibility update.

Ryan is actually amazing for Xbox coverage. I literally listened to podcast unlocked for the longest time because of his work.

The Dukes get world renowned Xbox Coverage man Ryan McCaffery on the episode. Truly a legend in the world of Xbox with more insight and knowledge than any in his craft….. First question: “Ryan, what’s your thoughts on bidets?” I’m dying lmao 🤣
