Dukes I have found something incredible and must share it with you. Not only is the former Lead Quest Designer/ Creative Director of various CD Project Red games who was with the studio for 12 years and worked on The Witcher, Thronebreaker and Cyberpunk, no longer at the studio Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz. He is STILL!!! available and actively looking for a high profile job nearly 4 months after leaving the company. On his LinkedIn page he is seeking either designer, creative director or creative writer. He is willing to relocate to the states from Poland if necessary for the job. The only reason why I said that last part is because just a few days ago he posted on his Twitter “I’m mid play through and I Love Pillars of Eternity ll”. PHIL WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!! Call this man now. Obsidian/ California studio dream job is awaiting him!!!! Or better yet maybe even a brand new studio in Poland led by him to reach the talent in that market.

Hi Dukes, Hypothetical but if 343 were to botch Halo Infinite and the IP given to another first party studio, who would you want it to be? Cheers Jace

Hey Dukes, I just wanted to write in to say how much of a pleasure it was to meet both of you this past weekend and also point out and thank you both, along with the rest of the LSM crew for sticking around the park two hours after the meet up was meant to end just to make sure everyone there got to have a chat with you. I look forward to the next live event, and cog, we're gonna get that lift in some time. Normally I'd say have an average day, but you guys have earned an exquisite day. Thanks, Hodge

Hey Dukes hope you're doing well! We've been talking a lot about our concerns with Halo Infinite, but let's have some fun for a moment. Hypothetically, what moments would get you seriously pumped during the Infinite campaign? For me, there are a couple of things: seeing Chief and Arbiter fighting together again, and another 'endgame' Warthog run. I can't wait for December 8th; hope to see you both online!

Hey Duke Boys, Thanks again for a great weekend. All of you guys went out of your way to make all of us feel like family! It was truly special! Now on to my question. Why does it feel like nobody is talking about Somerville? With the success and popularity of Inside and Limbo it baffles me that when people discuss the plethora of games coming in early 2022, Somerville is often left out. The game is being developed by Jumship headed by Dino Patti, one of the lead developers of both Limbo and Inside. If this game were a Playdead game, I have no doubt, that this would be talked about as a potential game of the year contender for 2022. Best, Sean M.

Hey Jedi Consular Matty and Dredgen Cog With the recent announcement of the Alan Wake remaster and the strong rumours of a sequel coming from Remedy in partnership with Epic, I’d just like to know your thoughts on the IP and if you’ll give the remaster a go. Personally, I think playing Alan Wake and then Control is a good education for any curious gamer looking to step into Remedy’s David Lynch/X-Files inspired world of weird. Much love from Accrington, England. Josh PS. Kotor 2 is the best Kotor.

Does or will Game Pass change how Game reviews are perceived or produced? We're in a time where D&D: Dark Aliance can arrive in a poor state of quality, but since it's "free" - who cares? Subscribers are in a no-loss position when the only thing a Game costs is storage space and some download time. In this case, does a Critic's assessment matter when the consumer is able to see for themselves, again, at no cost? Matty, as a reviewer, and Cog, a fellow commentator - does Game Pass affect how you perceive a Game's quality/worth and how you communicate that to your audiences? Do you think it will in the future? Perhaps even changing how reviews are conducted across the industry more broadly? Or will the current standard hold and is this an overblown thought? Thanks for a great Podcast Guys.

Duke Matty and Lord Cog, Y’all are ruining all other video game podcasts for me! Seriously, the quality of your content continues its meteoric rise with every episode and I am here for it. Thank you both. Cog’s enthusiasm for Destiny 2 has me logging back into the game! I have been playing with old friends, and our bonds of friendship strengthen when we spend time together talking in-game. Can you all give an example of a multiplayer game that strengthened your relationship with someone? Hope you both had a good time in Butler this past weekend. The man with the golden gun, -Sweet Baby Ray

Hey Double D, What are some of the best disturbing, get under your skin moment in games, for example I have the eye surgery from Deadspace 2 burned into my memory and more recently 12 minutes has some really disturbing outcomes involving a kitchen knife that I won't soon forget. As always, Keep Defining that Duke gentlemen.

Hello Dukes. I was listening to the Halo Gut Check last week and had a thought. Is any other video game series expected to deliver as much quality content as a mainline Halo game? A Halo game is expected to have excellent gameplay, a great campaign, excellent multiplayer, and robust co-op options, including local split screen. If any of these are either missing or unsatisfactory, the game will be viewed as a subpar Halo game. No other series I can think of is required to do as many things to meet expectations. No flagship Playstation franchise is expected to have co-op or a decent multiplayer. We've all collectively given up hope Nintendo's online will ever be more than mediocre. Is Halo just being asked to do too much compared to other franchises?

Hey my Dukey Wukey's, I recently put my old xbox one X in my girlfriends house to act as a Blu-ray player for her, totally selfless act. After a week or two, she said that she wanted to play games, what a surprise! This wasn't expected/ planned at all! There's one big problem though, she cannot use the right stick to move the camera. For people like us that do it on a regular basis and have for years, this isn't a problem, for someone whose last game was The Sims 2 on the PS2, this is an impossibility. Do you have any suggestions for games we/she can play where camera controls aren't needed? Some info: She loves Overcooked and have played both of them now. Also Castle Crashers and the Unravel games. Gameplay is king and a good gameplay loop is more important than pretty graphics. They don't have to be co-op or party games as I'd like to get her into games more and more. Love the show and listen every week after ILP. In an relm of thousands of podcasts, yours stick out as the premium content, congratulations to all you have achieved. Shaun

Hey guys! I feel kinda dumb for asking this, but what the fuck is a battle pass? I hear this term all the time and have no idea what it means. Thanks!

You also have Forge (which is a huge undertaking - the stuff people have made in Halo 5's Forge is insane), Custom Games Browser, Theater, and Firefight (or Spartan Ops in Halo 4). Halo Infinite's campaign will also be semi-open world with 4k/60 + ray tracing. Seriously, the stuff made from Halo 5 Forge is nuts - just Google "Halo 5 Night of the Mantis", "Halo 5 Survive the [Town, City, Volcano, whatever]", or just play the Infection mode playlist. Imo, separate the story from the multiplayer - creating two games. There is too much for 343 to chew on for one project. This will also allow more ambitious and experimental stories. The next God of War is expected to only have a singleplayer story, while Halo NEEDS a story with co-op, firefight, forge, multiplayer, etc. I don't think people pointing toward CoD's suite of content are being fair. They are only looking at it superficially. Halo games are far more ambitious and innovative.

Hey Dukes! Just wanted to throw my opinion out in the Tangled Shore. I agree with Mr. Matty that the Danganronpa series is superior to the Ace Attorney. I was shocked that this was even in discussion. Aside from actual more gameplay besides point and click and dialoge choices, the characters, mystery, location, plots, the antagonists and twist are much more interesting. Credit where credit is do Ace attorney is great but I feel like all the plots are tropes we've seen in many many court and law shows. The quirkyness of Monokuma and monomi hands down make the series on another level. Love all the work you guys do and thanks for helping me get through some of the worst times.

Are Sony and Microsoft listening to internet reactions more than they have before? Sony responded to the Horizon Forbidden West complaints very quickly, and Microsoft reverted the proposed Gold price hike even more quickly.

How’s it going duke and lord. Fallout 3 is one of my all time favorite games. It was also one of my first open world games. When I first started the game I remember not wanted to leave megaton in fear for what is out there, this was when I was like 14. What are some of your favorite moments in the fallout 3? Any favorite special guns in the game? I love the ol painless. Been a Matty fan since Skyrim content and early fallout 4 speculation days, always been a fan of your excitement and energy. Cog you bring such a great energy that makes this podcast (joint) come to life. Also love the earn your way to game mantra. Ps: turmeric is really awesome great stuff!

I wanted to say thank you for a weekend with last stand. I knew matty was amazing, because I found him during Greedfall previews. However, getting to meet Cog in person and seeing his presentation just made me realize I was missing out on this dynamic duo. I don't own an xbox but you have a viewer for life! thank you and keep up the great work! Go Phils!!

Hey Matty & Cog. Not sure if this has been addressed already but I was wondering if theres any plans to do a Psychonauts 2 spoilercast in the future. Im currently about 4 to 5 hours into the game and I can already tell that its gonna be in the running for my game of the year

Hey boys, time to put on my conspiratorial hat here, as I was inspired by Dustin’s recent comments on Halo 4 and 5 not being good games on the latest Sacred Symbols: What would you think Halo 4 and 5’s reception would’ve been if they either A. Released as new IP or B. Released as Sony exclusive games. I know these two games in particular get a lot of flack, but I found them both to be definitely on the higher end of the FPS games being offered in their respective times. Halo 5 to this day, despite not being a Bungie-era game or sandbox-based Halo, still feels super slick and I really only found DOOM and Titanfall/Apex as better shooters this past generation (with an honorable mention to MW2019). The talk on Sacred Symbols was that 343 “botched” Halo, but is that really true? Both are very successful games commercially, and averaged scores in the mid to high 8’s. Not trying to flame the console wars here, but those two shooters outclass any Killzone or Resistance game, and frankly most third party offerings. It just feels like (especially lately) everyone’s extra hard on 343 to the point of outright neglecting what was good about Halo 4 and 5, both two very well made games with tight shooting controls and robust multiplayer suites. Not trying to defend 343 here, but it’s obvious Bungie-era Halo is revered to the level of classic Mario/Zelda, so 343 will always have that looming shadow of doubt over them and potentially never live up to that quality for a loud minority of people. Still super pumped for infinite, and if it truly is Crackdown 3 levels of bad then I’ll just go back to the MCC. Let me know what you think, have a Recore-reception level day. Ps: just for fun and fanboy indulgence, here’s the metacritic reception for 343’s Halo games compared to some Sony exclusives (and even modern Bungie games) to show how overblown the 343 hate is Halo 4: 87. Sony games at this score include Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Marvel’s Spiderman Halo 5: 84. Games at this score include Ghost of Tsushima and Bungie’s own Destiny 2 (I know this one is a curveball because it’s 2017 Destiny 2, but still a reflection that even modern Bungie isn’t the Bungie everyone romanticizes)

Good evening Dukes, Matty, you made the call and I’ve decided to answer. It’s time to inform the ignorant masses of just how much better Danganronpa is than Ace Attorney. I thought Matty eloquently stated why it’s better with objective facts, but it seems like we still have to teach these kids a lesson. I played through Danganronpa 1 and 2 back to back for the first time earlier this year due to Matty’s recommendation and I was so blown away by how amazing these games are that Danganronpa 2 now has a permanent spot in my Top 5 games of all time. Not only does it offer a wider variety of gameplay/mini games during the class trials than Ace Attorney’s trials, the storylines and characters are also just flat out better. I’ve never finished any Ace Attorney game I’ve started, but Danganronpa had me hooked from the moment I booted it up. I’d recommend it to anyone who likes visual novels, adventure games, or are just fans of a well crafted story, and I hope Spike Chun Soft decides to bring these games to Xbox in the future so we can finally educate these poor fools. Glad I can be apart of the first ever Visual Novel war of the podcast, and I hope you guys have a day full of despair.

Howdy boys, I’m playing F.I.S.T right now and I love the production put into this type of game. Voice acting with good graphics in a metroidvania is awesome so my question is this. What genre would you like to see get more budget? Does genre impact how much can really go into? What would Danganronpa or MTG look like with 200mil+ budget? Sorry for all the questions keep up the good work.

Hello beautiful boys, There has been a lot of talk on this show about the Fallout IP, and more specifically, how it can be distributed amongst various Xbox studios. So, what other IP swaps between studios would you like to see take place within the Xbox Bethesda family? Thanks for the content and I cant wait to watch the live show VOD when it gets uploaded to wherever.

Dear Mr I'm So Hench I Should Mo Cap Abby in TLOU3 and Mr I Hate Halo, Forza and everything besides Titty Gobbling, So GamesIndustry.biz are reporting a slow few weeks of sales for Xbox in the UK. I think we can put that down to a lack of supply rather than demand as Series X has been out of stock everywhere. That leads me to question, is there anything Microsoft can do to boost their supply in the short to medium term? I know there's a chip shortage but surely they can splash their trillions of dollars around somewhere? They've got the cash to outbid Sony so they've really missed a golden opportunity here, rather than capitalise on the PS5 shortages they're actually getting outproduced by Sony. I think they underestimated initial demand for the Series X and are also wasting components on the Series S which doesn't seem nearly as popular. Cheers boys, Nick

Dear Dukes, If you guys could pick one OG Xbox game to be re-made (Blue point level of quality) what would you guys pick? Mine would be the original Fable. Loving the podcast and the great chemistry you both have together.

Hey guys, Can we clear something up? People everywhere are complaining how hard it is to get a next gen console while it’s still incredibly easy. All I did to get my series X was order one online and they told me that I was put in a line and that they’d send me one when they were available. I got it in two weeks, is that not good enough for most people? Are people only complaining that they can’t buy one off a shelf and refuse to have a little patience? It just seems odd to me. Love the pod guys

Hey guys, Life question to ask. Have either of you guys at anytime in your life thought of dropping everything to start a new? Thanks.

Hello dukes If this is submitted too late I do apologize...however I was wondering if you guys have read the recent press release Atari put out? More specifically where Atari stated they have future plans to bring cloud streaming services to its  FINALLY out (and readily available) VCS console. Atari listed the likes of Google Stadia, GeForce Now, Amazon Luna, and also... Xbox.  Could we see Xbox game pass/x cloud on another console? While Atari is no doubt not a viable competitor in todays market, this is a good move for them I feel. More importantly this is also a micro step, if narrowed down, for Xbox to move their service to other machines. What are your thoughts?? Thank you for all you do
