Behind the Scenes with Dustin and Ben | Sacred Symbols+ Episode 108

Here at Last Stand, we produce six shows a week with both audio and video versions, releasing each day like clockwork. In this episode of Sacred Symbols+, Ben and Dustin took your questions on how the sausage gets made: What’s the day to day like? What programs and gear do we use? What’s the best and worst part of the job? In addition, we went over our history together and how we first crossed paths with Colin. This one was really fun to make, and we hope you love it!

Great video! This is a bit late, but curious to hear your response, even if it's a quick reply to this message. Have you noticed your passion or desire to play games cool a bit now that you guys are heavily entrenched in the gaming industry? Personally, I used to love spending time learning things about my to-be career (cybersecurity). Now that I've been in the field for 6-ish years, I'm finding myself less and less interested in spending my free time developing myself in that way. As that relates to gaming, I now prefer to game on a ps5. I was heavy into PC gaming for 12+ years, but due to not wanting to be on a computer for 12+ hours a day, I'm now sold on the console ecosystems. Curious to hear your (or other patrons) thoughts!

Just wanted to say that I SUPER appreciate the Timestamps! I don't comment (or even visit patreon) very often. But I wanted to say I truly appreciate the time and effort you all put into the podcasts and the timestamps. As my life gets busier and busier I really appreciate that I can always go to you guys and not only enjoy the content but to also have the convenience to enjoy it at my own pace if I don't have the time to watch/listen to the entirety of the episode. I was able to watch last week's episode on YouTube this week and just pop around to the topics I was interested in. They are a HUGE savior when I have only 1.5hrs to listen to a 4hr podcast while I clean the house or fold laundry or whatever. You guys have done an AMAZING job. Keep at it. There have been times I have had to stop supporting creators because money can be tight at times. But with y’all, I will never cut off my financial support because you consistently deliver quality, quantity and a good time to get away from my busy life. Thank you. -RobTheButcher

Really enjoyed that. You’re a great presenter, Dustin. And just seem like a lovely bloke.

Great episode! Just wanted to say as someone who watches the full episodes, I still love reading through the time stamps to have an idea of what to expect and what to look forward to, so I really appreciate the work you guys do with those. Keep up the great work!

Thanks guys, perfect stuff to fall asleep to

A nice little peek behind the curtain of what goes into the shows. Your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed guys so a BIG THANK YOU for all your hard work.

Hey guys, I had not realized each podcast was so intensely edited until Ben mentioned it during this episode... which leads me to a question/suggestion. First, some background: I have a small bluetooth speaker that I use to listen to podcasts/music while in the shower. I've noticed the audio is pretty choppy throughout your podcasts. I sometimes miss whole words of sentences, and the discussion becomes hard to follow. I assume this bluetooth speaker interprets the cuts/silence as a lost signal, and it takes a moment to get going again. My phone’s speaker or earbuds don’t seem to have this issue--just this cheap shower speaker. I’m happy to go out and buy something better, but I wasn’t sure if this was a greater issue experienced by other listeners. I’m still a fairly new Patron, so forgive me if someone else has raised this issue before. One solution might be to take a recording of “room tone” to fill the gaps left by the cuts. Not trying to tell y’all how to run your show--just wanted to pass along some feedback. Loving the content. Be well.

Saw some people mentioning issues with Apple Podcasts. It's possible that's partly my issue too.

Timestamps for Knockback for when the conversation about the topic starts would be appreciated. I understand they shoot the shit in the beginning and many enjoy that but many others want to skip over that.
