E3 2021 Predictions | Sacred Symbols+ Episode 97

2021's E3 will be a most mysterious affair. Press conferences, presentations, and more are spread out over 10 days or so, and we'll have much to discuss in the coming days and weeks. But before E3 happens, we thought we'd make some predictions. Instead of spoiling them here, though, why don't you just hit play and listen for yourself? Dustin has his eyes on RPGs, Chris thinks PlayStation will be much louder than people expect, and Colin? Well... you'll see.

I really hope Banda Namco announces they’re working on Dragon Ball FighterZ 2. That game was a HUGE hit! And Guilty Gear Strives amazing rollback netcode will be needed for the next release, so excited to play that this week!

Given that Nintendo held the Trials of Mana ROM hostage (why the Collection of Mana is only on Switch), I suspect MANY NES/SNES JRPGs are in a similar scenario, possibly including Final Fantasy.

There was an interview with Hidataka Miyazaki about his collaboration with GRRM and that all did was create the world lore for Elden Ring while Miyazaki will be handling the games acutal story.

Hey, Colin! I noticed how you mentioned how no one ever mentions FF Tactics. I just wanted to point out that there is a mobile game called War Of The Visions: FF Brave Exius, which is essentially a FF tactics game that is pretty successful on mobile(Not sure if you count that based on the platform). However, I have played it for a few hours and its actually quite good. There's even a story, which I thought was pretty enjoyable for the few hours I played, though I dont know how it compares to the original PS1 game. I'll have to disagree with your prediction based on that. Mobile games have huge opportunity to bring in money due to microtransactions/gatcha systems. It seems better for SE to focus on this game from a monetary standpoint.

I don't like to be that guy but I guess I am and I keep hearing this in other places too so I'm going to correct it here I guess. The Octopath art style is called HD-2D not 2D-3D. It might be 2D-3D but they call it HD-2D so I guess I just don't get why everyone ignores that to call it 2D-3D.

Idk aren't most-all of those action rpgs Square has in development on PlayStation exclusively? The difference with having Triangle Strategy for Switch and FFT exclusive for PS is that it may hurt Nintendo's confidence in their relationship with Square and Triangle Strategy, as Square is putting a very similar game that has more demand and would likely be better on their competitor's platform (PS5). "Why now before our game is out are you giving Sony a better SRPG to compete with us?" Nintendo would say. I'm not too savvy with my games history and exclusivity, so correct me if i'm wrong and similar situations have happened before. I'm mostly cautiously anticipating Nintendo this year, but Take Two, Microsoft and Square will have some good stuff I believe. I pray for Mega Man X9 from Capcom.
