It's all been leading to this! Our audience on Patreon voted to have us rework the new Star Wars Trilogy (Episodes VII, VIII, and IX), and... well... we got a little carried away and dedicated entire episodes to our visions on a film-by-film basis. Remember! You should listen to KnockBack Episodes #159 and #164 before jumping into this one, if you haven't done so already. You may be lost, otherwise...

Been waiting for this one!

So excited for this. So glad I joined this patreon. New job is 40 min drive each way so listen every day. Totally worth the money. I don't listen to old sacred symbols. But this podcast is awesome to go to older ones

Dagan’s script has no right to be so engaging. It’s as if I could see the film playing through my mind as he spoke. He would do a sensational job as creative director on a Star Wars animated series, if the opportunity should ever arise.

Colin, you say Rey is a Mary Sue and that’s bad writing but you like Poe Dameron. I would argue that even though I also don’t give a fuck about Rey, she has a bit more character than Poe. Poe flies an xwing and is a good guy and that’s about it. As poorly developed a character as Rey is if not more. The sequel trilogy is total trash and I appreciate you trying to salvage some of the aesthetically cooler elements for your much better sequel ideas.

Well, there's no doubt that Poe wasn't fully realized, but his potential is obvious. That's why I wanted to include him. Same for Finn!

It's so good, right? He's a Creative Director in animation as we speak, so maybe one day...

I really liked Reys spunk and zeal in ep vii, I liked finn too but her character changed in a way... I can't put my finger on it. They also wasted potential with Finn.

Was so looking forward to seeing how things turned out and you didn't disappoint. As much as I'd love to hear more about where the stories went, I liked how you both left your respective trilogies. This is just me being greedy, and I'm sure having to put pen to paper for these three episodes was more energy-sapping than the usual Knockbacks, but are there any other franchises you guys would consider giving your take on? Matrix 4? Indy 5? I saw in the past Colin noted that ""Fan Made" fiction using existing IP is largely a waste of time, and a misuse of creative energy." But damn those three episodes were good, clean fun!

I really liked so much of what you guys put forth. I definitely echo your own sentiments about your strengths in lore and world building and Dag's obvious character driven brilliance. I only wish one of both of you made your respective trilogies a little more self contained. Both of you leaving them open ended with very little conflict resolution is quite the let down, considering you will likely never revisit these "what ifs". I can only hope you truly do collaborate on a single vision some day; Perhaps blending the best of both arcs into a single masterpiece. While I understand the opportunity cost argument and it's totally valid, (your both incredibly busy dudes) it would be astoundingly cool to maybe treat this as a "Legends" style novella endeavor. With the disappointing state of our beloved galaxy, why not craft something truly thoughtful and deserving of our childhood heroes, simply "for the love of the game"?
