There's something special about Spider-Man. Is it his New York roots? Possibly. His intelligence and diligence? Maybe. His sense of family, community, and justice? Certainly. But in the realm of comics, Spider-Man happens to be different characters at different times, something the Academy Award-winning 2018 animated film Into the Spider-Verse so successfully celebrates. By melding Peter Parker(s), Miles Morales, and even more obscure spin-offs like Spider-Ham, Into the Spider-Verse travels decades of Spidey fandom in two brisk hours. The results are so strong that many not only consider it the best Spider-Man movie ever, but possibly one of the best animated features of all-time. In many ways, we can't help but concur with the consensus.

Finally! Been waiting for this

I believe the newest thing youve done is actually the Rise of Skywalker.

I am one of those people who think it's the best Spider-Man movie ever made. That leap of faith brings a tear to my eye every time. And that soundtracks. Amazing. Definitely gonna listen to what ya'll have to say about this movie.

Liam Fagan

The best super hero movie.

There’s No I in LLC

Can't stop me now!! And hobgoblin is in here!! Hes just a giant monster!

Keith Farrell

Here’s a random Wesley Snipes fact that I think Colin will appreciate: Snipes and Joe Rogan were supposed to fight in the UFC in the early 2000’s but Snipes never followed through on his side

Henry Maxwell

Colin: "What game does the word 'Vanquish' remind you of?" Everyone Listening: ...(Platinum Game's)Vanquish? Colin: "CASTLEVANIA!" ...

When is Dagan's animation podcast coming?

Jake Watson

Can't wait to listen to this. So happy to see that you guys loved it though.

Ryan Basyooni

You guys have been on a roll with great topics. Glad I upped my patreon to start listening earlier!

Can’t believe Colin just said Magneto is a lame character smh. I’ll just chalk that up to your comic ignorance.

Shawn Ryu

In the Star Wars Clone Wars cartoon Maul does start out with the spider legs, but he eventually gets regular robotic legs.

I understand Colin is not a spiderman buff, but 1. Tom Holland is in the mcu, and was not in the Amazing Spiderman 2. That was Andrew Garfield. 2. Jamie Foxx played Electro, not the Chameleon. Those characters are so different I don't see how you mix that up, lol.

Not related to Spidey but can I suggest a future knockback episode? I am a little behind on the show and on the ghosts spoilercast heard Colin erroneously say he had never seen an Akira Kurosawa film. In fact Dagan and Colin have spent hours talking about the film that has a rebellion against an empire that starts with two comic relief characters with info on a secret empire base arguing in a desert before the camera panning out as they go in opposite directions. They are later united by a young boy and old man whom is teaching him the ways of an ancient order of battle, honor and discipline. They go to the base and rescue the princess etc etc. No the film isn’t Star Wars but The Hidden Fortress and I cant stress enough how much it IS Star Wars. Not a homage but more of a straight up jack, the characters, plot even the same cinematographic shots like the tattooine desert scene. Lucas’ only good idea was to take Hidden Fortress and put it in space. Which is why the further away from New Hope the worse his ideas and films got (Star Wars won 7 academy awards and was nominated for best supporting actor, director & movie). I accidentally saw it years ago when Stars (then called prism) had it playing late one night after a movie I was watching ended and I was busy playing some handheld. I got so confused looking up multiple times thinking this movie ripped off Star Wars, even though it was in black and white I had to look it up as I thought for sure it was like some period piece trying to act like the movie was older than it was. Anyway it’s a great movie that has inspired maybe the biggest geek franchise ever and a perfect fit for knockback.

You guys trying to pronounce Mahershala is hilarious. Its pronounced mah-her-shuh-luh.

Bryan Lozano

I love this movie! Shout out to colin for listening to lil wayne and Curren$y. Definitely some of the rappers that influenced my love for rap at a young age.

Is it safe to say this is the biggest MSFT acquisition since Mojang for $2.5B? Also interesting to note that it ranks as one of MSFTs largest acquisitions ever alongside LinkedIn, Skype and Github.

Dagan the hobgoblin. 😄 Dagan tells this nice story about his son growing up and Col, you just go straight to asking if the nanny is cute. 😂 For the record: Dagan reads the raps better than you do Colin. I always wanted Dagan to read mine but I didn’t get in even though I came up with the idea! 😅 Impartial to Joker? Hate Magneto? You better tread lightly. Colin, I don’t know if you know this but Mahershala is actually the actor that Marvel chose to be Blade in the MCU. That movie is expected to come out late 2022. Tombstone is definitely a character that has yet to be done justice. I’m not even sure if he can be ‘cause he’s so weird.

Comics lore is similar to this movie for Gwen Stacy. In an alternate universe, SHE is the one bitten by the spider 🕷️ and becomes Spider-Woman. Or now, Ghost Spider.

Brandon Soto

Great episode. I first got into Spider-Man from the PS1 game. Glad you also played Shattered Dimensions. Both awesome games. The Future Spider-Man from that game appears in the post-credits scene, which surprised neither of you brought up. lol.

Brandon Soto

The MCU Spider-Man films are great. PS4 game is great. Looking forward to future topics.

"We can keep those fanny's in the seats" - Dagan That means something else in the UK and in true British fashion, i nearly done a spit take while drinking a cup of tea. 😅 Amazing episode and the film is fantastic!

LastStandMedia

Yeah, I dug Shattered Dimensions. Or what I played of it, anyway. =) I actually didn't watch the post-credits scene, I didn't know it existed. LOL.

King0fChickens

Haha yes, its slang for the front bits of a woman to put it the best way i can. 😅
