Hi!
Today, I'm pleased to introduce a new show to the Colin's Last Stand roster. It's called Sacred Symbols, and it's a hardcore PlayStation-focused podcast for hardcore PlayStation gamers.
My co-host is Chris "Ray Gun" Maldonado, comedian, YouTuber, and hardcore gamer. He's exactly what I'm looking for in a co-host, and I couldn't be any more excited that he's doing this podcast with me. If you want to learn more about Chris, follow him on Twitter or Instagram, or check out his YouTube channel.
So, here's what you need to know: Each Tuesday morning here on Patreon, a new episode of Sacred Symbols will post for $5+/month subscribers. Three days later, on Friday morning, the episode will go live for all on SoundCloud, iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, and wherever you listen to podcasts. Episode 1 is free for all, both here on Patreon and on podcast feeds. Next week (and thereafter), Patrons get first dibs.
Of course, we're going to need your help. First of all, I hope that this convinces you to join CLS on Patreon (if you've not done so already). Nothing is being sacrificed to make room for Sacred Symbols. The only difference is that Fireside Chats is being moved from Tuesday to Wednesday. Otherwise, everything remains the same. CLS is rolling tons of content, and it's only because of you that I can keep going.
Basically, CLS' Patreon simply has more value, now, so there's never been a better time to join. As an example, for $5/month, you get early access to Sacred Symbols, Fireside Chats, and KnockBack, all ad-free. You also get audio-only access to Side Quest, which is only available on Patreon. If $5 a month is too rich for your blood, $2 a month may be more your speed. At that level, you don't only get to vote on topics for Side Quest and KnockBack, but you also get to submit your questions, comments, concerns, ideas, et cetera for each episode of Sacred Symbols and KnockBack. Sacred Symbols is going to heavily emphasize listener interaction, and that's only going to be extended to Patrons, full stop. ($2+/month subs will have access to a weekly thread, posted hours after each episode goes live, that will allow for submissions, so keep an eye out for that.)
Of course, if you want to show more love, you can. $10 a month gets you access to an exclusive monthly Q&A, while $25 a month gets your name in the credits of each and every CLS show. And if you wanna just show your support in the cheapest way possible, $1 a month nets you an exclusive podcast each month. Oh, and each tier below the tier you subscribe at is automatically included. So, as an example, if you join at $5 a month, you also get the perks for at the $2 a month and $1 a month tiers.
All CLS shows -- Sacred Symbols, Side Quest, KnockBack, and Fireside Chats -- cannot and will not exist without your support. Thank you for whatever you can give. For what it's worth, I think CLS' Patreon is chock-full of content and perks you simply won't find on other Patreons, and I think that's especially true now. But I'll let you be the judge of that.
So, here's the TLDR version:
1.) Sacred Symbols is a new, weekly PlayStation podcast catering to hardcore PlayStation gamers co-hosted by Chris Ray Gun and yours truly.
2.) $5+/month Patrons get early, ad-free access to each episode. $2+/month subs get to submit questions, comments, etc. that will be read on each show. Other perks (both below and above those values) are also available, and also extremely helpful to CLS' survival.
3.) The show is also available, later and with ads, on podcast services, free of charge.
4.) We need your help to keep this show (and CLS) moving forward, so if you've not yet subscribed, please do so now.
Today's episode is our maiden voyage. We discuss what we hope to do with the show, why it exists in the first place, and where we think the future will bring. But at nearly 100 minutes long, you damn well know there's plenty of PlayStation talk to be had, too.
I won't waste any more of your time, but I really hope you guys and gals are as excited about this as I (and we) are. Let us know what you think, and keep an eye out for Episode 2's thread, going live soon, so you can start interacting with the show ASAP. As always, feedback isn't only welcome. It's essential.
I think we have something special on our hands, but I'll leave that up to you. In the meantime, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
Yours, -Colin
