Today's guest on Fireside Chats is Jono Pech, an Australian podcaster and author with an optimistic outlook on life. In our nearly hour and a half conversation, Jono and I touch on his positive, work-centric podcast, what it's like to be a published author (he released a novel last year), and how hard work doesn't always pay off... but that it often does.

And, yes. We talk about Australia and gun control, too.

Looking forward to listening to this later. Read Jono's book - very accessible, especially if you were or are a fan of Kinda Funny. You will catch a lot of references.

Very random life moment - At one point heavy into the positive talk - In my head, I heard Nick Hexum rapping "Positive vibe merchant". Following up this podcast with a Brodels listen.

Jono is my boy! Can’t wait to jump into this.. your episode with him on Puttin’ In Work was great! Thanks for giving him the opportunity to jump on this Col!

Great episode, Colin! Jono is a good friend of mine and it was awesome listening to the 2 of you discuss Puttin' In work and gun laws together!

Listening to this episode right now, great stuff! My dad has always said to be that one person who goes the extra mile to work harder and do more than you’re told. Pull that gum out from under the table if you know no one else is going to!

Great episode. I’m going to have to add this book to my reading list

It's true! Hard work is no guarantee of success; it simply increases the odds exponentially.

Took me a few days to get around to it but enjoyed the episode. I liked the end, where the point was made that when viewing the gun massacres from outside the US, a lot of us foreigners aren't being judgemental, we're just concerned over a society we have affection for, which is dealing with a difficult problem.

LastStandMedia

That's a perfectly fair point, and, from my perspective, one not effectively delivered almost ever. It often comes off as people judging a culture they don't really understand.

Speaking of authors... how’s your book coming, Colin? Really looking forward to it.

Jono Pech

Listen to his recent episode of Puttin' In Work for an update! ;)

Have Ashley Johnson on Fireside Chats! I know she's living in New York right now, but would be awesome.

I loved this! I only knew when you were on Jono's show because he posted on Facebook. Is there any way (some time, I know it may be too much work), you can list the podcasts/shows you have been on? I have watched Pockets Full of Soup, Miss Movies, Joe Rogan (2 times), and Dave Rubin... are there more? Thank you for everything!!!

LastStandMedia

Hey! I think, with a few exceptions, that's all I've done since I've founded CLS. Rubin twice, Rogan twice, and a few smaller, fun shows like Jono's. Thank you for seeking 'em all out!

There was this one with Colin called T-K Spotlight last year, which was actually the podcast that made me realise he was open to doing smaller shows like mine. Thanks for listening, Megan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHpu6X2JCkA
