Todd Howard Tells All On Bethesda's Future... | Defining Duke, Episode 181

Well, this is a first. Matty had the opportunity to sit down with Bethesda Game Studios lead Todd Howard to discuss everything from Starfield and Elder Scrolls VI to Fallout and the company's shifting design philosophies! In an otherwise slow news week, the Dukes sink into all Todd had to share with Matty. What's going on with Fallout ports or New Vegas? How far along is Elder Scrolls VI and what technology is being used to build it? What's going on with Starfield Year 2 and will it be supported longer than prior BGS games? He shares a lot, so let's talk a lot! Get early access to Defining Duke and all Last Stand Media shows at: https://www.patreon.com/LastStandMedia Get some Defining Duke merch! Psst. I See Dead People, anyway Matty it’s awesome you had the opportunity to interview Todd Howard you did a phenomenal job. Cog super proud of you and the lords as well you both are an inspiration to me

Directional Joy

Matty talking about a ‘fan’ reacting to a take of his in a ”Nah man, not you!” kinda way made me consider how developers must feel, when interviewed. I imagine most would like to speak with some freedom but when simple phrases/remarks can be overblown for clicks and/or misinterpreted, you can NOT blame them for behaving more sheltered. And on that note, I’d like to praise Matty on one particular aspect of his Todd Howard interview… he felt as comfortable as one could be in his position because you set the mood VERY well (verbally clarifying that you were not attempting to get exclusive news or pressuring but instead wanted to dive into the details). Equally casual and professional. I am sure you look back at it and find some things you would adjust for ‘next time’ but you should be proud, sir. 🫡
