Xbox Is STACKED For 2024 - What's Next?! | Defining Duke, Episode 180

If there's one thing that the Xbox Showcase taught us, it's that Xbox has a lot ready to release soon. Perhaps, even, too many! As Cog aptly puts it, Xbox has an abundance of riches and we're keen on seeing how they spread the wealth. Will Xbox go all in with a line up of Shattered Space, Black Ops 6, Avowed, Indy, and Starfield DLC? It's hard to tell as the team seems to be playing a wait and see approach, but there's no denying the sense of corner finally being turned. Plus more on an Xbox handheld, more games eventually leaving the platform, deep dives into State Of Decay 3 and Avowed, plus much more! Save Scum Goblin

the “bussy butcher” is a diabolical name ☠️

It's not a “broad stroking” pause to suggest a change is happening industry-wide to include DEI in almost every property now coming out of a modern AAA studio. I did love the conversation you both held towards the end of this episode, though, to shed light on it. I think it's as unhelpful as the people who don't want it in their games to say there's “broad stroking” when consumers point out that something just isn't good. There are countless cases of content creators, aspiring video game creators like yourself, Matty, and professionals who have worked in the corporate setting like Cog who go out of their way to point out what is bad writing/gameplay and what could be improved, but that doesn't get views or likes. Both sides are guilty of wanting the other side to shut up and do as they are told. It's ignorant to act like that's not the case. Sadly, I don't see it improving as mega conglomerates continue to eat up smaller independent studios that may have had made those bold choices that could have otherwise changed the industry. I mean all of this with no hate and simply as an observation.
