A lot of thought went into indicating that the parasite changed posture.  First it has a distinctive “front” and “back” so that when it bends you will see changes in the profile curvature, color coded and texturized.  To further emphasize the movement, the third panel has a gap in the girl’s tube to show the parasite is bending far in one direction.  To make sure this gap is seen as a gap, I added mucus strings between the parasite and the tube wall.  The tube’s line also has no wrinkles, which indicates that it is stretched.

Leaving parts of the picture (or the whole page) black and white I find adds some drama.  It harkens back to classic black and white horror movies.  And if a panel is colored without planning then it could lighten the mood, which I don’t want for a horror themed picture such as this.
