Do you mention anywhere what (if anything!) you did to prep your paints? Meaning are they thinned with water or flow aid or anything? It's inspired me to finally try NNM.

They are just thinned with water. It's roughly 1:1 but each paint is different.

you said i think you would put a top coat to give a matte finish, what top coat do you use?
