...

At first, I didn’t understand what I felt.

When I first heard that Brandt was the promised Hero, I was at a loss. I could go with him, but I was only the child of the village mage. If I couldn’t keep up, then I’ll have no choice but to fall back and see him supported by someone better. Someone that could usurp the promise we made together as children, and that was before I met the Princess and saw how she looked at him with both hunger and lust when they first met.

I thought that I’d have to do everything to keep his gaze on me, as well as to survive the trials and tribulations to come, and I was at peace with it.

Yet, as I was cornered and men I didn’t know loomed over me with nothing but ill intent and unspeakable substances, she arrived.

Livia stormed into my life clad in nothing but a furred cloak and oh-so-tight leathers beneath and saved me. Her cloak flared with the weight of her blows, gusts forming with every swing, and I barely paid any heed to what she did to the men who stole me away. My gaze was entirely on her well-muscled back, the roundness of her rear despite all that tone, and the bounding bosom barely constrained with every swing.

I knew that I enjoyed watching Brandt train every day, but such was the case amongst all village girls. We all giggled and gossiped about his good looks and fine figure, as he devoted himself to being a grand and capable protector of the village just like his father.

However, only after seeing the same lean musculature on a woman did I understand… that I adored physical perfection nearly above anything else. Not egregious and oversized, but accentuating the human figure. A nearly impossible body only brought into existence by a combination of good lineage and discipline both.

Brandt’s body was masculine perfection.

Livia’s body was feminine perfection.

And, I wanted both to sandwich me.

Yes.

The first part was a lie.

I knew exactly what I wanted the moment I laid my eyes on Brandt and Livia training together for the first time. When the two of them started glancing at one another when they thought the other wasn’t looking, my heart didn’t break… instead I decided upon a singular goal: I needed to get in there, too.

Even if it meant spending every night studying esoteric magics.

Even if it meant scouring the ruins for ancient catalysts and staffs.

Even if it meant unraveling the mysteries of the world in order to uncover long lost power.

I was going to get in there and I was going to love it.

The first hurdle was the two were prideful in their own way.

Brandt hoped to live up to his father’s ideals, especially after the man passed away protecting the village. He already looked up to him, but after that he became his permanent role model. Honor, duty, and loyalty were all fine things, however the man also raised his son to be better than him. As a former knight errant and soldier, Brandt’s father probably had more than a few trysts before settling down, which resulted in children out of wedlock.

Given Livia’s eagerness for kids (hot), if Brandt was like his father in youth, there’d be no issues.

However, instead, even when propositioned… Brandt refused on the basis of wanting to be an honorable man.

And, even though Livia could’ve pushed him down, held onto his ankles and had her way with him, she respected his decision.

It was maddening to see the two of them tiptoe around each other, like they shouldn’t just throw each other to the ground and fight for dominance before dominating me.

Thus, I realized something, while we made our way to the first shrine.

Before I could be a bridge between the two physically, I needed to bridge the two emotionally.

They were two great and powerful people. Brandt and Livia were both going to save the world with sheer force and magic. Between the two of them, royalty all over the world was going to be convinced to reconquer our old home, but they were abnormally stunted socially. If nothing happened, then things were going to stay the same forever. Friends between one and the other… while one stayed adamantly honorable and the other was as open and plain as can be regarding her intentions and willingness.

While I struggled to learn and to gain what I needed to fight, the fact of the matter was that I knew how to navigate the normal world. Sometimes, you didn’t need to stand up for peace and justice at all times. There were moments when you could just move along without solving every problem that a town had. Heck, you don’t need to put every single opponent that you face to death and they’re not completely evil after pointing a sword at you. Some people can be intimidated and they’ll back down or scurry away or get scared into living decent lives.

I needed to teach them both that… and now I realized that I also needed to get them to go at each other like rabbits before I got what I wanted.

And, if I didn’t want to ostracize myself from them and get them to not be shining paragons of morality, I’ll need to do it slowly.

This was going to be hell, wasn’t it?

I did it.

I managed to get it done.

I convinced Livia to honestly confess to Brandt. She told him about her culture, about how she saw him, and even about how willing she was for me to be a mistress (hot). Openly, plainly, and without any amount of guile, the sexiest woman I’d ever met had gone up to the most attractive and handsome man I’d ever met and stood strong while saying the hottest words I’d ever heard in my life.

And, someway and somehow, he messed it up.

I wanted to scream, I wanted to screech, and I wanted to howl at him for being an idiot and a moron.

But when I neared him and I looked straight at his eyes… I knew that I could.

The dummy was still the guy I loved and he looked agonized at the thought of rejecting me, so that he could adhere to his ideals and properly marry Livia.

I loved that about him.

Despite all that we faced, despite all that we encountered, and all that we lost.

He was still an honorable dummy who wanted to do everything right, despite his own instincts and desires.

Anyone else would’ve leapt at Livia, but neither Livia nor I would’ve ever offered to anyone else but him.

Still, though, I couldn’t let this stand.

As cute, adorable, and amazing Brandt was now… relationships are about compromise, and I wanted him to compromise.

So, I was going to give him a piece of my mind with great care and consideration of his beliefs and personal philosophy—and I’m shaking his head and screaming at him to put babies into Livia and put babies into me.

Yeah.

Sorry, Brandt, I love you.

But you’ve still messed up eight months of work and rejected Livia!

I awoke and felt content for the first time in years.

Brandt and Livia were both staring at me from the foot of the bed, already fully clothed, and that contentment faded.

Memories of what we did to one another, and more importantly what I asked them to do to me, surfaced in my mind.

In their eyes, I saw them both waiting for me to blush, to stammer, and to have regrets.

They were, of course, wrong.

Contentment turned into satisfaction in an instant.

“Good morning! Thanks for last night. I’m looking forward to the next!”

“Alyss…” Brandt looked at me reproachfully, which only made my smile widen. He can make stare at me with such pure and just eyes all he wanted. They didn’t erase how he looked at me last night. Nope. Not in the slightest. That hungry beast with a starved man’s stare was something that I’ll cherish forever… and look forward to bringing into being once again. “I can’t help but feel used by you.”

“I feel the same.” Livia backed him up without a second’s hesitation and there was a coldness to her gaze. That cold gaze is nice, but it’s much nicer to see you holding back from moaning! “We have decided to limit our trysts to once a week.”

My dreams vanished like a mirage in the desert.

“What!? No! We’re supposed to go at it like rabbits for at least a few weeks, then decide we’ll need to cut back!” How was this going so wrong so quickly? I mean, it was great that they were both putting a line in the sand and putting me in my place so fast, but they shouldn’t be able to resist this fast! “Give me ten days of nonstop threesomes at least! Do you know how hard I’ve worked for this!? You can’t do this to me!”

Tears welled up in my eyes at my disappointment and despair at the cruel decision.

“Can’t you spank me a bit instead? Edge me for hours? Force me to watch without touching myself, instead?” I offered up alternatives to their wicked plan of forced abstinence. Neither of them wavered and I felt a sweat crawl down my back. We’ve only been together once, but the thought of going back to our usual relationship had me worried. Nonstop sexual tension for hours on end, instead of Brandt or Livia taking me to the side when they’re frustrated to have their way with me? Say it wasn’t so! Neither of them budged at my tears. Tyrants! Hot tyrants, but still tyrants! “Four times a week!”

Livia and Brandt looked at each other, quietly speaking to each other with eyes alone, regarding my fate. (Hot)

“Thrice a week.” Brandt blushed lightly and coughed into his hand. “But always at night, not in public, and you’re to restrain yourself from enticing us.”

“At least three times hidden, but in public a week!”

“It depends on how well-hidden—

“I learned invisibility for a reason!”

“It was supposed to get us to places safely, Alyss!”

“A secondary benefit!”

Dammit.

These two were good at haggling.

Or, maybe, I just want them to keep controlling me, so I’m not working that hard to haggle.

Yeah, the latter was more likely.

Royal Concubine.

The title made me tear up.

Gossip abounded about my station. People came to comfort me. They saw my fate as deplorable. Despite being beside the new King all my life, I was second place. Already, they were trying to get into my good graces, so that they could use their influence on me to reach Brandt. It was a time-honored tradition to pin the Queen against the Concubine. Livia probably heard from everyone else that it was a shame she was married for political reasons, while Brandt’s heart was truly mine.

They were all fools.

My title made me tear up in joy and both the Queen and King liked to pin me down plenty, and they were digging their own graves.

Ooh, my baby just kicked.

“House Tantsi once more? They are truly fools.” Livia sighed as I entered our private study. Brandt made sure that a whole section of the new castle was just for the three of us to enjoy our lives without being bothered by the court. The inner palace was surrounded by a large garden and the only servants were the little puppets I’d infused to be able to clean and maintain everything. Food was handled by chefs, or by us. We learned how to make plenty on our trip across the world. “They truly believe that they can sway you against me? Also, no I will not squeeze your face between my thighs.”

“But, I’ve been a good girl!”

“Do not endanger your child.” Livia rolled her eyes and a thrill went down my spine. I smiled and took the seat next to her and took a paper from the table. Requests for all the budding villages were aplenty, but it was always for more labor and tools to get that labor working. The Demons had mostly ignored the natural resources of the Kingdom. We had plenty and many were happy to invest to see prices all over the continent stop to drop. It helped that Brandt went out so often to hunt down giant beasts, of course. Nothing like a dragon’s carcass or two to really fatten the treasury. “What do you suggest we do next?”

“I think that we’d best speed up agriculture. Lots of people are going hungry because of food prices.” The Kingdom had dominated production of food for the longest time, even with many of their farms being small. This land was blessed with fertility, and now we had all that land consolidated under our rule. Many perished because of the Demons that followed the Demon Lord, but the land retained its power, and we held dominion over it all. “The sooner people are fat and happy the sooner we secure our borders.”

“I see. That is wise, indeed. If only you used your mind continuously to such ends, instead of coming up with lewder and lewder ways to fornicate.”

“Ah, praise me more, Liv!”

“I am not praising you.” Livia shook her head and sighed, before nodding to herself and going over to me. I hoped that she’d do more, but she just placed a kiss on my cheek. “I’ll be retiring for the evening to greet Brandt as a wife should. You’re welcome to watch.”

I shuddered and nodded at her statement… and watched her back as she left for him.

A long time ago, when I mastered my magics, I saw something stronger and different imposed upon her. A creature that was more Demonic than the thing that took over our king. For a long time, even though I loved her, I thought that things would go wrong and Brandt and I would have to fight against her.

However, as time passed, that image faded and Livia… just became Livia.

Was it our love?

Was it the peace brought across the world?

Was it her children looking to her with wide eyes and wide smiles?
I didn’t know for sure, but I did know that Livia wasn’t going to change… and that I had to get to work making sure that she’d never be alone.

“Of course, I’m going to watch! It’s all the fun I can have nowadays!”

Being with the two of them forever sounded perfect.
