If I was put on the spot and asked what is the one that that would make me do more and better, it would be 3 days a week every week spent just reading full time. Not spare time reading, full-on 8 hour days with a notepad. If I only have one talent it is using every bit of the animal and making it last all winter.

Bits O' Troika (working title) is a self imposed siege. I will maintain the blockade until the populace have started to eat their boots. 500-600 entries that must be interesting. There will be nothing left after this, unless the weight of it goes critical and starts spitting out its own energy. It remains to be seen.

I love these long, wasteful books. Slate & Chalcedony is easy compared to Bit O Troika or Sutlers. In Slate there's one idea explored in the usual ways, while those two books are a wasteful plundering of ideas, totally unexplored, violently uneconomical. They feel very healthy, good for the heart. Megadungeon next, obvs.

It's already in a first draft. The original plan was to tighten it up and shrink it a bit but I've moved towards making it bigger instead. Hopefully finished for Christmas, fingers crossed

I know Gene Wolfe and authors like him already that have inspired troika ideas but im curious what sort of non-fiction (if any) you'd suggest for reading, for entertainment and gaming

I'm going to stretch the definition of non-fiction with some of these but: Island of Bali by Miguel Covarrubias The Gnostics by Jacques Lacarriere Papers Toward a Radical Metaphysics: Alchemy by Charles Ponce The Gnostic Scriptures by Bentley Layton Anti-Oedipus by Deleuze & Guattari These are some of the things I have definitely stolen directly from at one point of another. There are more but this is off the top of my head. I might do a proper post on it actually, since a proper appendix N is on the to-do list for Troika 2
