I drive all over the state for my job, and unfortunately when you’re always driving, the chances of hitting animals increases…. I’ve accidentally killed 2-3 birds and two baby raccoons this summer and I literally sob every time. It makes me sick and I feel like a murderer. That feeling just never goes away when you value all life, big or small.

I relate to OP so much. I had the same problem I think he messed up in how he presented it to his gf. What I did was I gave my gf the option. Like my grandma and old aunties are like this, and they will judge you if you don't help. So you can either help in this sexist tradition and give a good first impression. Or you can skip it. If you skip it I will defend you from them. But then there will be drama. I let her pick and told her I'd fully support her choice.
