My mom was completely shunned by my grandfather when she told my grandparents she was pregnant with me. He didn’t speak to her at all and my grandmother was apparently pretty cold towards her as well. As soon as I came out, they were both in love with me and everything was alright again. Jerry is right, everyone forgets where the baby came from and only focuses on the fact that there’s a baby! They have a good relationship now, but I was absolutely shocked the first time my mom told me that.
