Also this may be a stretch but I think it's so obvious it has to be intentional; when the guard walks up to Andy's cell and doesn't find him inside I think this is a metaphor for the Roman guards discovering Jesus' body gone from the cave his body was put in. And notice the words the guard uses when he doesn't find Andy..."Oh my holy God". Yes, Andy is supposed to be Jesus.
