Phew!

That was a long book. But I quite liked how it turned out. This series isn’t designed to be a long winding road, but rather a short series. Fantasy trilogy has a nice ring to it, but I have the idea of where I want it to go and it could be anywhere from 3-5 books. While I know how my series will end, I don’t always have a concrete plan on how to get there.

The harem will be tight and small. Four anchors, one for each sphere (this will be magically significant later). There may be a dalliance or two outside his anchors, not confirmed, but not closing those doors. The anchors are going to be the focus for the romance.

Still, very exciting and I feel like I worked on some good writing skills during this book. My title work still needs some help. Magic's Mantle: Book 1 of Arden's Legacy. Is my current thought as for a title. We'll see. I still have until the last minute to settle on a title :)

Up next is Dragon’s Justice 9. I’m going to try and finish the series with this one. DJ has been a consistent foundation for my writing career for almost two years now.

Yet, with each time it comes back up in the rotation I’m finding it harder to stay consistent with the multitude of characters and Zach himself. Over twenty books between book 1 and book 9.

That and Zach is hitting a point where he’s just going to gobble up the entire world if we continue. There’s also no way to end this besides killing Zach where someone isn’t asking me a day after publishing 9 ‘when’s book 10?’.

But, alas, Haremlit still seems to struggle with read through in general. Book 8 took a sharp dive and I’m more confident that it’s the right decision to close out Zach’s story.

So, time to wrap lots of things up without rushing it too much. I think I have the right case to do as much of it as I want and am plowing into it.

We’ll get back to Dungeon Diving after that. I have honestly intimidated myself a little, 103 was one of the better books I’ve written and I have to one up it. How the heck am I supposed to do that when I split the party and Bun-bun isn’t with the main group! We’ll see the grandparents at the beginning of the next book though. So, at least they have some time.

Then I’ll come back to Bonded Mages.

Unsure right now what’ll replace Dragon’s Justice and I just started a new series so not super craving a new one. I might holster the next new series until I have that craving again.

Audio is rolling along. Some people have expressed interest in switching off Lewis and Rozelyn. But they are honestly just so easy to work with that it’s hard for me to make a switch.

Next, webcomic is getting pushed to the top of the hill for season one of Dungeon Diving. The studio’s writing team has started reading the book. I’m making tons and tons of character briefs and we’ve started the prework. Hoping to start sharing some of the character sheets with you in the coming weeks.

This is going a little more legit than the manga(I learned so much from that project). So, all the characters are getting design work before we start. We are looking at finishing prework in October/Nov. Then we’ll move onto getting 10 chapters built up for launch.

Art style wise, we looked for a good match to the webtoon ‘Perfect Half’ it’s very NSFW as a warning if you go peek at it. I think we’ve found a VERY talented artist.

Right now I have an offer from one of the smaller webcomic hosting sites to cover a substantial amount of the production costs while I still get to maintain control and they are going to pay me on top of that. Somewhere around chapter 5 I get to pitch it to Webtoons/Tapas. So, I won’t know where I’m hosting it until the new year. But it’s happening and I at least have an offer that’s going to make it very feasible to turn it on and have it chug along with fairly low risk.

We are looking probably to release that January/February and then produce an episode a week.

As for SSV comic adaption. I’ve officially canceled the manga. As we’ve gotten the feedback and stepped back to analyze what is successful, we are looking at a mature comic. Each comic would encompass one girl’s story as the best path forward for a comic adaption.

The unfortunate reality that I’ve found is that it is really hard to monetize manga and all of these manga reading sites don’t actually pay creators. So, it was pretty much KS or bust.

Note about Patreon. There has been a reoccurring glitch where when the chapter comes up it isn’t available to anything for 15-30 minutes. Lots of you have been asking questions, wondering if I’m raising things into higher tiers. I am not, I apologize for any confusion. It’s a patreon thing.

For those of you at the art tier, we have latex maid Crimson coming and I’m going to take the 2nd highest option from the poll and we’ll do the scene where Kim is on the desk being taken by void tentacles.

Yanai had some things come up where they weren’t able to produce as many pieces for me, but that is cleared up and I want to get into a cadence of giving you guys more than just the cover art.

All this said and done, lots of things happening. I am looking at, with the inclusion of the webcomic to redesign patreon and create multiple ‘tracks’. One thing I am considering and need to make sure I can set it up fairly is to put an Audio tier on Patreon. Said tier would get the audiobooks ahead of their release on Audible so that I do not have to leave Audible exclusivity(because I would distribute it prior to entering exclusivity) but can continue to rely on Amazon less. Big problem here is what happens if I miss a month or my narrators hit a hick up and we have to delay… ect ect.

Anyway, lots of things. I’m really happy I have some help now. Merch has once again been kicked down the road. But I’m aware of requests for it.

Sad to hear that DJ is ending but I also completely get it. The Patreon readers here are the ones who would read 20 of your books so we likely aren't the audience that this is really about. I really hope Dungeon holds up though as that is a series that feels like it has potential to go for a very long time in that world. Looking forward to the new series. I do like big series but a tight fantasy trilogy is also great.

I mean, when you’ve got a harem so large that you need a spreadsheet to keep track and an MC that’s changed drastically from earlier on in the series….
