That’s a wrap. I felt like at times that if I didn’t finish this, it would never end. But I pushed through and we finally reached the end. It is bittersweet. Mana meant so much to me. This story allowed me to go full time. It was my third book and a significant shift, full of growth, that has led me to where I am now.
I give the series a lot of credit for making my name what it is today. So seeing the end, it feels like the end in so many ways. Yet I need to acknowledge that is only the end of the beginning. Supervillains just launch me higher than I thought I could go. Much like when I first put out Mana Master, I’m feeling my career take yet another step forward.
So the closing of Mana Master is the end of any concerns I might have that this career is going anywhere anytime soon. I’m here to stay. I enjoy HaremLit and though I’ve considered some alternative options. For now, those are going to continue to rest idly on the shelf, hopefully collecting dust for some time.
I am struggling through some decrease in productivity, mostly due to my wrist starting to bother me, but I am working through that. I have done portions at time via dictation, but I'm moving more to dictation at least in the short term to give my wrist a break.
The big and ever present question is always, what is next?
I think for the rest of the year I will hammer out my three existing series. Dragon is up next, followed by supervillains and then I’m going on a break for a month, at which point I will be pausing Patreon payments for the month. Finally, after that we will return to Dao. and then I will repeat the cycle once more. That should get us to the end of the year. It will also get us to the end of both Dao and supervillains. So at the beginning of next year I will need to come up with two new series. Though it is looking like my other idea in Supervillain's world is a front runner now with the success of Supervillains.
During my month off I will not be posting daily here, however, I will still be writing for fun and most likely trying out the openings for a couple of series I have in mind. I’ll share what passes muster.
For the audio lovers here, I’m happy to say that I’ll be partnering with Rozelyn Rader and Lewis Alexander to do Supervillains. They will rerecord Dao 1 and moving forward with that series as well. Starting in October, they will do 1 audiobook a month, every month. I’m very happy to get some consistency there.
Dragon will remain with its existing narrators, but everything new will go to the new team.
Speaking of, tomorrow we start Dragon 4!
