“Lanhua, I’m not sure if this is the time.”

“You dual cultivate.” She replied, crawling over to me. Her dress pulled off her shoulder as she moved forward. “We need your strength, and you need to be as strong as you can be. At least let me help you.”

This felt like Lanhua’s entire cultivation.

I grabbed her as she lay on my chest with a content smile. “Lanhua, we have to stop this or you’ll… you’ll lose your entire cultivation.”

She nodded. “Once, when I was a small girl just beginning cultivation, Edmond, who was already favored by the clan, said he snuck out a secret technique for me to cultivate.”

I felt a chill wash over me. “He didn’t.”

“I have cultivated the art of a cultivation cauldron for my entire life. The pavilion and my attitude was to fool him, make him think I had fixed the flaw in the technique.”

My anger nearly made me lose control of the mana flooding into my domain, and my cultivation shook.

“But then why? Why after all this time?”

“Because your mother pulled on your strings of fate and said that you’d save me from Edmond.” Little pearly tears rolled down her face. “And she was right. Today, you saved me from him.”

I had to think quickly. Her cultivation was collapsing as all of it drained into me. I cursed, frustrated that she hadn’t told me about it before we’d begun. “I’m not done saving you yet.”

Rolling, I put her below me and started to dual cultivate with her once again.

“No.” She put her hands on my chest to stop me. “Isaac, I want you to be strong enough to fight him.”

“This isn’t only your choice.” I replied, focused on my task. “There is more free flowing mana in me than ever; we are going to dual cultivate all of this together.”

Dual cultivation was a duality that drew vast amounts of mana, multiplying what was already there. Of course there were limits. Mostly, the cultivators’ bodies could only take so much pleasure before they burst and the cultivation had to be started again.

But now, with this great flood of mana, I was determined to make more. I hoped to make the most of her sacrifice and hopefully save her cultivation.

They made themselves conduits, and I thrust forward.

Lanhua screamed in release, gasping as she pawed at me, her own domain flooding and straining. A moment later, she relaxed, and it came back at me once again like a torrential storm that threatened to wash away a village.

My mana beasts were there, soaking some of it up and then helping me push it back at her.

I could only assume she was receiving support on her end as well.

“This, is how I save you Lanhua. Hold on and restore your damn cultivation.”

Despite her domain expanding, I could feel her foundation crumbling.

Lanhua had tears streaming down her face as she took me in again, gasping. But I could feel her infuse her soul and start restoring her own soul palace.

I lost myself thrusting in and out of Lanhua. My entire focus was on the slick pleasure that tortured me as my body begged and clamored for the release I was denying it.

Time slipped by; I did not know how long I had been going when I could hold it no more.

I realized her conviction had all led up to giving me her cultivation, and after that, she hadn’t planned anything.

“Sure, but roll over so I can be a big spoon.” I pried her arms off of me, and she released, letting me shift her.

I reached out, sensing her cultivation. I let out a sigh of relief that she was still at the sixth rank. But I also found evidence that it was changed. When I tried to inspect her cultivation, the result was puzzling because it almost felt like it looped back into me. That was impossible.

Lanhua snuggled into me, and I focused on the feeling of her body. I pulled a blanket from my spatial ring and draped it over the two of us as I drifted off into my soul palace.

Blinking my eyes open, Aurora jumped into my lap and started shaking me. “MASTER! What have you done?!”

“Aurora, hold on for a moment. What’s wrong?” I pushed her off my lap to see the rest of my mana beasts’ concerned faces.

“Just look dummy.” Aurora grabbed the side of my head and turned it to the exit of my soul palace.

I looked in that direction, but nothing seemed wrong in my soul palace, besides the fact that my domain was no longer around my throne.

I realized my domain encompassed the entire building and beyond. I would need to step outside to see the extent I had grown and the problem.

The rest of my mana beasts followed right behind me as I exited.

But when I stepped outside and reached out, looking for the edge of my domain in the shared soul space, I couldn’t find it.

“Aurora, just how big is my domain now?”

She fluttered over my shoulder. “It’s no longer just your domain.”

“What?” I looked up at their soul palaces; there was no domain of their own within them. It was all my domain. “No…” I breathed.

“Yes, you broke all of our domains and merged them together with that explosive growth.” Aurora huffed.

I turned to Phoebe, hoping she had an answer for me, but she shook her head.

“The implications of this are unknown. By your cultivation, I should be at least at the 7th rank. Your merger with my domain has changed that, and we are in uncharted water. But at least I was able to help it grow.” Phoebe pointed off. I didn’t see what she was trying to show me for a moment, but then I did.

The shared soul space was curved. It was round.

I jumped off the ground and floated up into the air to see it.

The shared soul space curled around itself, making a small green sphere of grass, our soul palaces dotting along it.

It was a world inside my soul.

But what caught my eye was another gathering outside a soul palace that hadn’t been there before.

It was an ornate castle, covered in flowers and vines. It was beautiful, like some fairytale princess’ castle.

I floated down to meet my wives as my mana beasts joined me.

“Uh…” I scratched the back of my head. “I’m not quite sure what happened.”

The only person looking more nervous than me was Kat, and I focused on her. “Kat, this was originally your technique. Any idea?”

“I have no idea. My technique was developed based on the principals of the soul that we knew in the mortal world. But we’re in the immortal world. And now domains are involved. And you added all that damn mana. It all cracked and when they were pushing up against each other and healing the cracks, they fused together!” She threw her hands up in the air, coming up to me and grabbing my chin before pulling me into a hot and heavy kiss. “But whatever it is, it has done beautiful things.”

“Not now. He needs to understand what he’s done.” Michelle pulled Kat off of me.

“What exactly is that?” I asked, looking around at my wives and their mana beasts.

Kat grinned. “We are all sixth rank now. Whatever this is.” She waved her hand around. “Is a domain that we can all draw from.”

“Oh? That’s a good thing, right?” I failed to see why Michelle seemed upset and looked at her for more.

“We have no idea what this means, Isaac. What happens if we both try to use a domain at the same time? What if that tears all of our souls apart?!” Michelle was panicking, but mostly because of the unknown we had created.

I shrugged. “We’ll just have to test and find the boundaries.”

“Absolutely. Fucking. Not.” Michelle grabbed my shoulders.

But I grabbed hers in return, locking eyes with her as I took a deep breath, coaching her with my face to do the same.

She made a small grumpy face before sighing and taking a deep breath, joining me.

When she started to relax, I put my forehead to hers. “It’ll be okay Michelle. We’ll carefully test some things and then move on from there.”

Michelle grunted her understanding and then headbutt me, hard.

“Ouch.” I rubbed my forehead.

“Always messing with things.” She sighed. “I thought our adventure into the immortal world would be smoother.”

“No, our husband just seems to invite trouble.” Nikki came over and leaned on me.

Trouble just had a way of finding me. “Is Lanhua here?”

I looked around, only to find her disciples pushing her forward in the crowd.

“Here.” She bowed, splaying her dress.

“Oh, don’t change because of this.”

“Fine.” She stood up and kissed me on the lips. “I’ll have to make new arrangements for my businesses.” She sighed and shook her head. “You’ve given me a new lease on life.”

“And we’ve made a little world. If I’m right, that means we should be at the seventh rank? But I don’t feel a huge difference.”

She shrugged. “Creating your own world inside of you is what they say happens with the seventh rank, but I’m not sure.”

I turned to Phoebe, who I hoped might have some answers.

She shook her head. “No. It’s more like you are a pseudo seventh rank. I’m not sure where your combat power will fall, but this isn’t the seventh rank yet.”

“In theory, we are all a half step into the seventh rank?”

She nodded. “Yes, but I have no answer for what comes next.”

I smiled. Even if I hadn’t truly ascended into the seventh rank, this odd half step was enough to encourage me that I might be able to fight back next time I met Edmond.
