It’s Friday and I’m feeling a little nostalgic. That and I spent too much time reading the news this morning and I need to pull my mind away from that chaos.
So, this update is coming a little early.
First, to the world events. War sucks. Those who directly participate in war put everything at risk because they have everything to lose, but they have little to gain. It’s shit and my heart goes out to everyone forced to fight.
Dragon 3 is off the to editor. I’m pretty happy with how this one turned out, but at the end of this I might need some help to pick which girl to go after next. There are too many girls to choose from and my 1 girl a book is killing me. My book 4 note pad is already brimming with ideas about the conclave and ancient dragon lore. I think I know how book 4 is going to use it all to continue the adventure.
But the next book isn’t dragon 4 as much as I’m sure many of you would love that.
Instead, I started Saving Supervillains. This one has been on my mind for a while. If you were part of my newsletter, I tried to make a series of shorts for this, but really it was just a little smut.
Somehow the idea of the story and the characters has just nested in my mind, growing and fermenting into something much more.
I am absolutely blowing my daily writing goals out of the water as I’ve started writing this. I’m on chapter fourteen of SS and just concluding what I consider the first act of a three act story. So… this might be a long one. I might be 20+ chapters ahead of the patreon when you start this one, that’s a pretty big gap for me.
Blurb (WIP)
Miles is, possibly, the most powerful super in the world. But he’s not a hero or a villain. He hides among the masses, trying to live a normal life.
That is, until chance brings him upon an unwilling supervillain. A woman who’s inability to control her power has made her a villain, despite her intentions.
And he’s in just the position to help her. While saving this supervillain from herself, she just might save Miles from his own demons in turn.
Unfortunately, that is going to draw Miles closer to the Bureau of Super Heroes, the last place he ever wants to be.
The plan is to hammer this one out and move back to Mana for Mana 6 (the end).
Then… something… I feel like I should get back to Dao. But I’m not sure that’s what I want to follow a book 6 with. We might go back to SS for another book or go back to Dragon before continuing Dao.
Otherwise, things are great. Life is good. I’m finally not sick. The world kind of sucks and the news is fear-mongering to new extremes, but I’m getting better at compartmentalizing it all so I can focus on what I can effect.
Art for $10 tiers. I have recruited two artists to help me do a handful of character art for Saving Supervillains, intending to sprinkle it into the story as we go.
