Dane finished one bowl of the stew and sheepishly looked back at Amber.

“Go ahead, get him another bowl.” Dar jerked his head.

“You have wonderful servants and family.” Dane’s eyes appreciated the women, but there was no coveting them. Either that or he was just smart enough to keep that out of his gaze.

“This is Sasha, Cherry, and Mika. My dao companions. And then you have Neko and Blair, two close friends. Finally, you’ve met Amber and Marcie, my maids.” I introduced them quickly.

Dane received his second helping. He’d already told a number of stories, so Dar decided it was only fair to share some of theirs.

“We all fled from Bellhaven when the city became hostile towards ancient races. The city was dealing with repeated devil attacks and in their panic, a group of nobles used the public's fear, pointing it towards the demons and spirits.” Dar let out a sigh, annoyed just from reliving it as he told the story. “After a harrowing flight from the city, we stopped here, and we’ve made it a home. We intend to stay here and build up our own city, one that is welcoming and empowering to the ancient races and creates a more harmonious relationship with humans.”

Dar paused, looking over at the burning woods in the distance. “Unfortunately, as we built up this village, we came under attack by a large colony of ettercaps that had built up a fortress in the woods and destroyed the surrounding area to where they were venturing out for food. We made the first move, not waiting for them to organize and attack, destroying them. What you see now is the celebration of that victory.”

“The fire is from all of that?” Dane looked over Dar’s shoulder. “I can’t say I’m entirely comfortable being so close to it.”

“Yes. We created a fire line in the woods and a backfire. There’s no fuel for it to cross over this way. If anything, that fire will burn out any ettercaps we missed.” Dar gave the woods a hard look. “There were thousands of them. I wish there had been a better way for us to deal with them.”

“Thousands.” Dane paused in eating to repeat with wide eyes.

It was clear the merchant was skeptical of the number, but Dar moved past it, not caring if the man believed it or not. “Ask around if you’d like to confirm. We did several scouting missions ahead of the ultimate battle. The guard captain and his wife could tell you about the ettercap fortress we found.”

“Forgive my hesitation.” Dane apologized. “It is hard to believe such a young village could survive a colony of ettercaps that size. Then again, I’m not sure the last time I saw so many spirits and demons working industriously together.”

“A unique advantage.” Sasha interjected, pulling her stump close enough to Dar to lean on him. “But what of Kindrake? We are rather separate from the Kingdom’s capital here.”

Dane’s eyes raked over Sasha, trying to determine what sort of demon she was, but Dar knew the man would come up short. It had taken Dar a while to get her to tell him. The only marking to indicate she had once been a type of silk worm were two spinnerettes in dimples just above her ass.

Given how much she often wanted to fit in with human royalty, Dar had to wonder if that played a role in how human she appeared.

“The capital is... well... rumors that they are preparing a levy to fund a greater military force have been spreading. It is likely the reason Prince Gregor was sent down to Bellhaven was to get it under control. The city would have had trouble contributing to the levies in the state it was in. It also reaffirms their control of the area. Increasing levies tends to bring unrest, which can be dangerous in already unstable areas.” Dane took another bite of his stew, trying to hide a small smile that crossed his face, but Dar noticed it.

“You are happy that a war is coming?” Dar asked, his brow pinched.

“There is always money in a war.” Dane explained. “That there is also loss of life is tragic, but it can be quite lucrative. That is, if a merchant can figure out the new logistics and predict what goods will be most needed.”

He sounded eager for the challenge it would present.

“That changes what you might be trading for.” Dar realized. “We have many talents among our village that you might not expect.” Dar watched the man’s eyes twinkle, noting that there was an opportunity to trade their skills for goods they needed, but wanting to know more about what was coming.

“So, the levies are being raised for a military. Who’s the target?”

“It’s all just rumors so far. We likely won’t know until they assemble their forces and begin their march. Sailing out to the Mahaklan islands isn’t likely; we don’t have the fleet for that. So, that leaves just the two neighboring kingdoms. Sineld and Tormac, but we haven’t had aggression with either of them for a generation.” The merchant showed me his palms in a plea for understanding. “Right now, word is there’s going to be heavy demand for metal work. Nails, swords, that type of thing.”

Dar shook his head. They had blacksmiths in their town, but they didn’t have enough raw metal to sell to Dane in volume. “We have the men, but not the ore. Our village was more concerned about lumber and crops to prepare for the winter.”

Dane rubbed his jaw, looking around and then back at the stew. “If you have this much bison meat, do you not have plenty of leather?” Dane pushed. “And if you’ve been gathering lumber, your scraps might make decent stone-tipped arrows.” Dar smiled. Leave it to a merchant to find the opportunities.

Dar felt Sasha press into him again. She’d been nearly bursting at his side throughout the discussion. “Go ahead, Sasha.” Dar gave her the floor, nearly laughing as words spilled out of her.

“We will need the wool and hides for winter clothing, but we’d be comfortable trading leather, bones and horns. As for arrows, we’ll have to see if we can secure the fletching we need. But we could also use chickens. Speaking of livestock, we’d happily find a trade for goats.” As Sasha spoke, Dane leaned forward, nodding and starting to add small comments to further the discussion. They went back and forth, both brimming with excitement over the type of deal they could make.

Realizing he was out of his depth, Dar retreated from the conversation, giving Dane a nod indicating that he’d back Sasha’s words.

Once again, Dar felt out of his depth. Bones and chicken feathers would not have been items he’d expected to be useful. But once Sasha said it, it made sense.

They had a few wild pigs, but livestock hadn’t entered his thoughts at all since founding the village, and bones weren’t exactly someone he had seen get much use back on earth.

In fact, he thought they were mostly considered waste. Maybe good for fertilizer, but that was about it. Here, though, they would be used for simple tools, handles, maybe even spoons.

He still had much to get used to in Granterra.

“Milord.” Amber caught him as soon as he pulled away from Sasha; Marcie hung to her side like usual.

The two of them had grown close. Dar could see the telltale signs of a relationship blossoming between the two of them. They’d even made a comment earlier that made him think they were experimenting with dominance play. And it was clear who the dominant one was. “We wanted to thank you for our new home.” Amber bowed formally and pulled Marcie up to the side.

Where Amber was petite and drew attention to her curves by showing some skin, Marcie was the complete opposite. She covered herself up, but her ample curves were still clear under the clothing.

“Thank you.” Marcie’s voice was subdued, but that was usual for her. She was shy to a fault, and it didn’t help that she let Amber lead her around by the nose.

Marcie bowed as she spoke, her breasts bouncing with the motion despite what he knew to be Sasha’s best efforts to contain them.

“You are both very welcome. I expect you to move in and make yourselves comfortable. It will be a long winter, and I have high hopes for the two of you.”

They both beamed in response.

Ever since Dar had given them fruits from the dao tree, they had become quite adept with the use of knives, although they still fought with a reckless abandon that spoke of them training to kill rather than protect.

He knew they trained like that to always be his watchful maids, able to react should something endanger their household. It was only more reason to shower them in what he could find. “I collected many ettercaps and spiders from the fight. Both of you should prepare yourselves to receive more fruits tomorrow.”

“Yes, Milord.” Amber’s eyes sparkled with a fevered determination. She was a dangerous one.

Dar caught Marcie’s eyes wandering over to the nearby dancing, but he saw Amber’s eyes wandering more towards the rod in his pants. He had a feeling she was planning a different kind of thanks.

“Go on. Enjoy the celebration and move your stuff over before you turn in for the night.” Dar shooed the two eager maids away. He had to stay and mingle.

Accepting pleasure from the maids had taken him a bit to adjust to when he’d come to Granterra, but that resistance had since melted after seeing their lack of hesitation and enjoyment. It made them feel more secure and a part of the group, and Dar had to admit, it was a hell of a way to bond.

“Do I get my room, as promised?” Blair asked from beside Mika. The white-haired salt spirit practically vibrated with sexuality as she tried to hold herself back.

Blair was Mika’s old friend and a touch too forward for Dar’s tastes, but after he’d voiced it, she’d toned it down. And she’d repeatedly shown her commitment to their town and Dar.

“Of course. I promised you a room in return for all those enchanted crystals, and I wouldn’t go back on my deal. Your room is on the right side; I think you’ll figure out which I intended for you.” A small smirk tugged at the corner of his lips.

“You sure I can’t get a room closer to yours?” Her eyes were hungry.

“Cut it out.” Mika slapped Blair’s ass, eliciting an excited moan. Blair wiggled her ass in request for another, making the wave spirit roll her eyes. “You are impossible.”

Blair turned to Mika like she was about to cry. “But since you joined the family, I have been so pent up.”

Dar sighed. This was his life now. But he couldn’t say he minded it, given the beautiful women that came with it.

Kissing Mika on her temple, Dar went to leave the circle, but he found himself face to face with a crouching Niko. She sprang from the ground, but vines rose out of the dirt, trapping her ankles. She fell forward and Mika caught her, pulling the grumpy, but clean, cat girl into her lap.

Cherry came to his side as he stepped away. “Where are we going?”

“Moving the stuff from our hut into the cave mansion.” Dar was ready to spend his nights in the cave. He’d already carved enough dao characters of quiet into the walls that they could be as noisy as they wanted in the bedroom, and none would know. The little wood hut they’d been using had not provided the same privacy.

While privacy wasn’t something the ancient races worried about, it Dar was still partial to privacy.

Cherry put her hand on his chest, whispering. “I know you can feel the change to the little dao tree.”

“Something to check on tonight.” He agreed. Absorbing the Mo had done something to his little dao tree, and he was eager to figure out just what that was.

“It feels so good. The tree is so full of power.” Cherry’s voice grew with excitement. And she knew as well as Dar what it felt like; the dryad was connected to the tree inside of Dar.

Cherry looked drunk as she kept her hand on his chest.

Scooping up the petite dryad, Dar draped her long green hair over his arm as he carried her with him. He could tell she was lost in touching him and feeling the change from the tree. It was easier to just carry her than try to herd her anywhere.

Dryads were spirits of a nature dao and obsessed with their tree’s. Given Cherry had made Dar’s dao tree her tree, she was now obsessed with him. Dar would have described her as a fangirl if she wasn’t the oldest among them, and far more deadly than a fan girl image portrayed.

Cherry kissed his chest as he walked through the village, earning them more than a few stares and giggles.

“Cherry, calm down.”

Her hot breath washed over his chest. “I need it.” Cherry’s face was flush as she looked up at him with full red lips and emerald green eyes.

“First, we need to get all our belongings moved over. But maybe when we get to the cave mansion you might convince me.” Dar smirked down at the randy woman.

In response, a warm hand dove into his pants and wrapped around his shaft while still in full view of the other villagers. She pumped him several times before he pulled her arm off him. “Not here.”

“You’re such a prude.” She sighed and laid back, letting him carry her as she touched him. Little exhales of bliss left her mouth as he carried her into the hut.

Dar looked around, quickly drew all of their possessions into his inner world to store them for the time being.

Content that they had gathered what they needed, Dar left for the cave with long, quick strides, Cherry still in his arms.

Cherry giggled in his arms. “You’re in a hurry.”

“I know better than to make you wait.”

Apparently, Cherry took that as full permission to start the moment they crossed into the cave.

Her hands wandered back into his pants, and their warmth enveloped his cock. She began pumping him once more. “Bedroom.”

Grunting, Dar lifted her up and tossed her over his shoulder. “Behave.”

But behaving did not seem to be on Cherry’s mind. Using her access to his neck, she sucked on the nape of his neck, drawing shapes with her tongue.

Dar nearly took the door off its hinges as he slammed the bedroom door closed and activated the dao characters of quiet.

“Yes!” she screamed, flinging herself off his shoulder and landing with more grace than he expected. “Sit.” She pointed to a wooden bench.

Though most of the mansion was made with stone, Dar had been mindful to place a number of wooden pieces as well. Not only did it add a little warmth to the otherwise bland structure, but it gave Cherry something to use her dao on.

Clearly that was also on her mind, because it wasn’t long before cords of vines sprang up from the bench, lashing Dar’s legs to it and peeling down his pants enough for his cock to spring out.

“There’s so much raw power coming from you.” Cherry ran her hands along his chest again, her eyes looking hazy and a little crazed.

“Are you okay?” An edge of concern entered Dar’s voice. Cherry would never hurt a fly, but the way she was looking at him was strange.

“Better than ever.” She kneaded his chest, massaging and feeling him. “It feels so good.”

There was no warning as she rose above him and then thrust herself down, impaling herself on him.

Wrapping her up in a hug, Dar held her still even as she wiggled her hips. She moved more, sinking fully down onto him. Dar tried to slow her down. The dryad was petite enough that he was concerned about her going so fast and heavy.

But his worries were baseless; he could feel just how wet she was. Whatever was happening in his inner world was certainly revving her up.

Trying to slow her down, Dar kissed her, cracking open her pink lips and letting their tongues tangle in her mouth. She practically vibrated in his lap.

Giving a frustrated groan, she wrapped her arms around his neck like two firm vines. Using them to get leverage, she began slapping her hips down onto him.

Breaking the kiss, Dar stared into her eyes. They were so fixated on him it was like she was drowning in his attention and would slurp up every ounce of him if given the chance.

Those were crazy eyes.

“Hard. Please, harder.” She cried as she threw her entire body weight into his lap with each thrust.

Grabbing onto her hips, Dar’s fingers sank into the edge of her tight bubble butt and pulled her down onto him.

Cherry screamed, her eyes filling with tears as she smiled and lifted herself off him, only to slam herself back down. “More.”

He’d never seen Cherry like this, but he certainly wasn’t going to complain. The vines wrapping around his legs were a token at best. He could tell she’d made them thin and breakable. He stood up, ripping off the vines and breaking the bench.

He looked down, deciding that could be fixed another time.

Grabbing Cherry by the hips, he pressed her to a stone wall and slammed himself into her.

She screamed and clung to him tightly, trying to press herself into him even harder. “More. I need to feel more.” Her head was swaying side to side in apparent need.

“I’m going to crush you if I go harder.” Dar noted, growing concerned but also insanely turned on.

She bit down hard on his neck in response, giving him a muffled. “Harder.”

Unable to deny her, he obliged. He slammed her hard enough into the wall that he was worried it would crack.

Her hips survived, and she squeezed him like she was trying to get him just a little deeper, trying to scratch an itch that she just couldn’t reach, which was saying something given that Dar filled her to the brim.

Dar pounded into her as she clawed his back while begging for more.

Trying to up the sensation for her, Dar decided to add more stimulation.

Pinching a small mass of granite from the wall, Dar controlled it with his dao.

The piece rolled itself into a smooth ball and rolled down his arm and chest, settling at the base of his cock. He had no sensation of the ball, but he knew Cherry well enough to not have any problems.

It vibrated back and forth, rolling over where he knew her clit rested.

Cherry screamed, pushing her head back into the wall as he continued to pound her into it.

“Yes. Another one. I want another one!”

He pinched off another piece of granite and let it join the first. The two of them swirled over her.

She came back to his lips, devouring them with a raw passion that consumed him as he felt himself peak.

Ropes of his seed pumped into her, even as she squeezed herself tighter to him.

Stumbling, he caught himself on the bed before he toppled over and let himself fall backwards, landing on the bed.

Cherry stayed latched to him, bouncing eagerly on him for her own release.

As his post-orgasm haze cleared, Dar focused on the two beads he had been using. They went into overdrive, vibrating as they swirled around her.

Cherry finally came up for air, screaming with her own release as she soaked his thighs in her pleasure. “Fuck.” She said as she went limp and flopped down on his chest.

Dar smiled, wrapping his arms around her as she panted.

As they came down from the moment, Dar leaned back to look into her eyes. “Going to tell me what that was about?” He asked.

“Tired.” She closed her eyes.

He lifted her head, waiting until she opened her eyes again. “Tell me, please?”
