Phew, Dragon 1 just went off to the editor, spent the weekend editing the back half of the book. Now I just need a cover and a title for it >.<
Interesting journey for sure to write Urban Fantasy. I had to do some research and pacing work for more of a mystery/thriller vibe. I stepped back at one point and said, ‘I could totally make this non-harem’. You know it would probably sell better, longer. Then I said fuck it, I like harem.
Taking a break from writing today, catching up on some long overdue reading, my TBR pile is more like a mountain at this point. Also, doing some doodling. I have always liked the black and white style of ‘Witch Hunter’ manga. So drawing some of of those characters, don’t be impressed though. My attempts at art would fit right in with a stick figure drawing on the fridge.
The whole going full time as a writer has been going well. This is my 3rd book written in 1 month. LR was easy, but it was a shorter book. Dao was uncomfortably tight. Dragon was tight as well, but far more comfortably so. I’m getting better at writing more and, most importantly, needing less editing. My writing is changing and I continue to focus on 3 or fewer aspects each book, helps me spend a month on internalizing some improvements without being overwhelming. Then I move forward onto the next one.
I’d like to get more MH done, but the novel series took priority as I adjusted to a book a month. Deadlines push me and I don’t know if I could do all of this without that pressure. For me, it is just about managing that pressure.
What else? I have been helping new authors for a while, but one LitRPG author from RR has asked if I’d publish him. I’m on the fence if I want to do it, just as far as time/effort and value.
Otherwise, I’m just living life, bracing for the baby boy. Excited, but change is always scary.
Let me know if you have any questions.
