Dar worked at the granite foundations all afternoon, only pausing to meditate to restore his mana. He’d sat with with Amelia a few times, working with her to mediate together. She was able to pass on some of the techniques she used to get even closer to her dao. He’d also found that being closer to his dao had made meditating and restoring his mana easier.

But what had really surprised him was Amelia. Focused on helping him with his technique, she’d put aside some of the constant come-ons, and he’d seen a clearer picture of who she was under all the flirting.

There’d been a few moments he couldn’t help the smile on his face as she’d eagerly talked about her meditation practice, often babbling on about some breathing technique or visualization. He finally felt like they were connecting on a more real level. Maybe the talk had helped.

As the sun started to set, they called it a day, moving to join the community in the center of the village. Neko was well enough that she left the hut and joined them, although she was still weak.

“I got her.” Dar scooped Neko up and plopped her on his lap. “Marcie can you get another bowl of food?”

The quiet maid nodded and hurried to move.

Taking his own bowl, he spooned out a portion and held it up for Neko. “Say, Ah.”

“Ah.” Neko opened her mouth wide and rested against Dar.

“You spoiled brat.” Mika shook her head. “You know she’s milking this?”

Neko blew her tongue at Mika before her ears flattened to her head, and she looked back up at Dar innocently. “Neko good. But Neko tired.”

The whole circle laughed at her antics.

“What do you say Sasha? Is she good enough to eat on her own?” Dar asked.

“She still needs the help. But be good Neko, don’t antagonize Mika.” Sasha wagged her finger at Neko.

She went quiet and cuddled into Dar. “Neko be good.” she said before opening her mouth again asking for food.

Dar didn’t mind helping her eat. In fact, he enjoyed taking care of her like he would any of his girls, but in his moment she truly needed it and doing so only brought a warmth to his chest.

They finished up dinner and moved onto the leaders meeting.

After meeting with the other leaders and not hearing anything out of the ordinary, Dar worked to cut the evening short, anxious to get back to their hut. Sasha and Cherry were right on his heels.

As they stepped inside, Dar pulled Sasha to him to give her a kiss, but all he got was a quick peck. Surprised she wasn’t moving to rip his clothes off like usual, he was met with a serious face. “Inner world first!” Her excitement shone in her eyes, and Dar just laughed.

Nodding, he stepped back.

“Now, when you feel it tug you, try to go with it. Don’t resist at all or it’ll hurt him.” Cherry explained.

Sasha leaned back, wariness entering her face. “Maybe I shouldn’t? What if I do it wrong? I don’t want to hurt you, Dar.”

Dar sighed, pulling her into his lap on the bed. “It’ll be alright. Deep breath.”

She breathed in deep, and he tugged, working to bring her into his inner world. He’d only really done it with Cherry, but it felt about the same as Sasha sank into his navel.

“I’ll go make sure she’s alright.” Cherry dove in herself, a natural now at going into his inner world.

As silence surrounded him, Dar realized it was one of the first times since they’d come to Hearthway that he was alone in his hut for the night. It felt unnatural now that he’d gotten used to it.

Climbing into bed, he tried to fall asleep, but he’d gotten so used to having somebody else in bed with him, he just couldn’t seem to nod off.

Rolling out of his hut, Dar went to see if Mika might be willing to come join him. As he was walking around looking for Mika, he ran into Marcie. He paused before beckoning her over.

“Milord, do you need something? I was about to turn in.”

Dar was afraid to push her too fast with this request, but it might also be a good, easy first step for her. He hoped that by now Amber had at least put some thoughts into Marcie’s head. “This is embarrassing, but Sasha and Cherry aren’t in my hut tonight, and I’m having trouble falling asleep on my own.”

“Oh. OH.” Her eyes went wide.

Dar waved his hands, trying to stop her mind from going out of control. “Nothing like what you are thinking.”

She suddenly deflated.

He ran his hands through his hair, annoyed he was messing it up at every turn. “Marcie, you are lovely. But I’m not sure what you want or are comfortable with, and I certainly don’t want to push you or have you feel like I’m using my position to pressure you. So, if you’d like to sleep, just sleep, in my hut tonight, it would be helpful. But it’s not required. Do you understand?”

Marcie looked up at him and swallowed. “Yes, Milord.” She paused, looking back and forth between him and the nearby hut before meeting his eyes and nodding. “I’d like to join you.”

Dar held out his hand. And she tentatively took it, seeming to relax as they started walking.

As they entered the hut, Marcie stared at the pile of blankets before looking up at him. “Do you want my clothes off?”

“However, you sleep best. I’ll be taking mine off. I find them uncomfortable in the sheets.”

“Yes, Milord.” Marcie slipped off her dress. She was about as buxom as they came, which had been hard to hide. But when she took off the dress, Dar realized she’d even wrapped her chest tightly to keep them down.

“You have a lovely body, Marcie.” Dar said, trying to keep his tone comfortable and relaxed. Shifting over to the bed, he laid down and held the covers out for her.

Marcie blushed, laying down in front of him. “Your body is quite the sight too, milord.” Her voice was tentative, but there was a bit of excitement behind it. She shifted in the sheets, burrowing in a bit.

They stayed like that for a few moments before Marcie shifted herself backward, gently pressing her butt against his groin. She didn’t move, but he felt her body go from tense to relaxed as she grew more comfortable with the position. He put a hand on the side of her hip, otherwise holding his body as still as he could, although he wasn’t sure how long he could keep his member from responding to the softness of her body.

Dar closed his eyes, working to start to shift himself back to sleep, but soon he felt Marcie’s hand on his, guiding it up to wrap around her, pushing her breasts into his palm.

Dar didn’t say anything, but he squeezed and teased her breasts gently.

“Milord, if you keep that up, you won’t sleep.” The shyness in her voice had softened, and a slight gravel had been added. Dar smiled, pleased at the small step they’d taken.

Grunting, he pulled her closer, already feeling the warmth of her body helping lull him to sleep.

Dar found himself back in his inner world. Sasha was walking around with Cherry, exclaiming at nearly everything.

“Dar, what took you so long?” Cherry asked.

“Turns out I got so used to having someone with me that I had trouble sleeping, so I invited Marcie in to sleep with me.”

Both of them look at each other. “Truly?”

“Yes. I know, I know. Took me long enough. It was a little awkward, but she relaxed with me after a bit of time. I think it was good for us.”

“Did you do anything else?”

Dar shook his head. “No, honestly, we went further than I’d intended. We’re snuggled naked right now with my hand on her breast, which she did. So I’d say progress?”

Sahsa nodded “Good, I’m glad she’s opening up. It will certainly help her reinforce her position in her mind if nothing else.”

Dar shrugged. “Strange how you get used to some things so quickly. Not sure I’m going to be able to fall asleep on my own.”

“We’ll make sure one of the family is with you every night.” Sasha answered quickly, looking worried. “It’s our fault for not realizing that need sooner.”

“How could you know if I didn’t?” He teased, but both women seemed to feel like it was in part their fault. He wasn’t sure how he’d gotten so lucky to have women who wanted to please him so much.

“Anyway.” He changed the subject. “How do you like my inner world?”

“This is amazing! I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. But ‘world’ is correct; it really feels like a small world here.” Sasha stepped around the little dao tree. “So this is where the magic happens?”

There was a massive mound of the spider and ettercap bodies not far away.

“Yes. That’s the tree that extracts the dao from our enemies and creates fruits.”

Sasha brushed aside the leaves and looked at each fruit. “These are incomplete.”

It wasn’t a question, but Dar answered it all the same. “Yes, they are. But hopefully not forever. Here’s the leftover from the hellhounds.” Dar pointed to a dark red fruit.

Sasha’s eyes became misty as she touched the fruit. “You almost died for this one. Died saving me, too.”

Kissing the side of her head, he whispered. “You were worth it. Now, how about you help me and Cherry bury all of these?”

“Wait…” She narrowed her eyes playfully. “I was tricked!”

Both Dar and Cherry laughed. “Yes, dear, I tricked you. But I think this work will bear unique fruits of your labor. I’m sure you’ll enjoy them.”

“I can eat them too?” She asked in surprise.

Dar looked to Cherry for her opinion. Cherry shrugged. “I think we can; I think anyone can. Which only make this secret more dangerous.”

Dar knew where she was going. “I still intend to make this place somewhere people could live. I know it might take time, but this could be a haven.”

“I don’t doubt that, love, but I agree with Cherry. It is dangerous to let others know.”

Dar nodded, but he also knew that there would come a time that the secret would be revealed. If his fruits could make their village stronger, he didn’t want to hold it back. He just had to be careful in how he did it and who he trusted.

“We’ll cross the bridge when we come to it. For now, let’s see how many fruits we can make.” Dar took the dirty job of bringing the bodies over to the dark soil, and Sasha and Cherry took turns using the shovel to bury them under the thinnest layer of dirt.

“This is simply amazing! It is like the soil is digesting them.” Sasha tipped more soil on a shriveled up spider, watching closely and marveling at the process.

“Look at the dao tree.” Dar pointed to the little tree, which had been steadily growing as they fed it.

Sasha just shook her head. “You cheat. This is so unfair! Do you realize how much work we put in to grow along our dao path?”

“I know, although I can’t say I’m sorry. Even the meditation I did to pick up the soft dao felt like cheating, but I’m not going to hold back when there is as much danger as we’ve been in.”

“Nor should you.” Cherry agreed. “We need strong dao companions if we are to make the sort of change you want.”

Dar threw more bodies into the soil, and they worked quickly together. Sasha made shallow wells for Dar to throw the bodies into, and Cherry sprinkled dirt over the top.

As they worked, flowers bloomed on the little dao tree, slowly building into buds and then fruits covered in dao characters.

“Let’s stop here. I think we have plenty for now.” The little dao tree looked weighed down by the dozen or so fruits that had blossomed completely. But Dar partially wanted to pause because he couldn’t hold back his curiosity any longer at what type of dao had been produced.

Picking one of them up, Dar bit into the fruit, the juice dribbling down his neck. He immediately picked up on the dao of quiet. It made so much sense! That’s how they’d been able to sneak up on them in the forrest.

“They had the dao of quiet. Almost all of them.” He looked at the remaining fruits, confirming almost all were the same dao element he was holding. There were only two others of the remaining eleven that weren’t quiet.

“That would make sense. My turn?” Sasha placed her hands on one of the fruits and gave him a questioning look.

Dar nodded. “That’s another quiet fruit.”

Sasha took the fruit and took a tentative bite before her eyes lit up. “Mmm! And here I thought things good for you were supposed to be bitter.” She eagerly devoured the rest of the fruit.

“They are pretty tasty, aren’t they?”

Cherry snatched one off the tree and bit into it the same as Sasha and groaned into it. “These are freaking delicious.” She eyed the others.

“And worth far more than their taste.” Dar reminded her.

“I know. I won’t eat another.” She quickly finished off her fruit and licked her fingers clean.

Sasha had also finished, and was playing around with the new dao. It looked like she was screaming at him, but not a whisper made it to his ears. She breathed in deep.

“Amazing. So we have seven of those left, along with the other two mystery dao?”

Dar looked at the other two fruits, both felt like the same dao, but he wasn’t sure. “Do you both want to do the honors and try the next one?”

“Mine.” Cherry snatched another and devoured it quickly. “Eww.”

Sasha, about to take a bite out of hers paused, holding it out at arms length and eyeing it warily. Turning to Cherry, she waited to hear what dao it possessed.

“Sticky. I don’t want to be sticky.” Cherry blew out her tongue. Dar held back a laugh. He could already think of ways to use it in village construction or even traps outside the village.

“There could be uses for that.” Sasha smirked. “Imagine if he couldn’t escape your sex.”

“Ooh.” Cherry’s eyes went wide with a grin.

Dar rolled his eyes. “Does it always have to be about sex?”

“Yes,” they answered in unison.

Ignoring them, Dar stared at the remaining fruits. He knew they would have plenty more where these came from, considering they still had quite the number of ettercap and spiders to toss into the soil. They’d only planted about half of them so far.

“I’d like to give Neko, Amber, and Marcie fruits tomorrow. Maybe Mika and Amelia too.”

“That leaves two fruits.”

Dar thought on it. “Bart and his wife?”

Cherry gave him a worried stare. “That’s a lot of faith you are putting in them.”

But Dar disagreed. “I have to trust some people, Cherry. I know you are slow to trust. But if I can’t trust them, I’d go crazy.”

“Then do it, but you won’t be the only immortal. One day, someone is going to realize not only you, but other humans, have stepped onto the dao path. When that time comes, there will be trouble. Bringing other humans onto the dao path will only make that day come sooner.”

Dar nodded. He’d already considered it, but he also didn’t want to hold back out of fear. “The more good people I elevate, the more help I will have when that day comes. I hope that I can give these fruits out to those who I can trust to do the right thing with their newfound strength.”

Cherry closed her mouth, clearly still not pleased. Dar knew she was more cautious than he was and she had her reasons. She’d lived a long time and spent a lot of her life having to act like an airhead to avoid conflict from those who would consider her power a threat.

But Dar didn’t want to live a life hiding who he was or holding back from helping his allies.

“While I have you two here, I’d like to discuss the other women.” Dar changed topics, wanting to get their opinions, and having a feeling it would cheer Cherry up.

Cherry smiled and leaned in. “Yes, this is a much better point of conversation. Too bad you didn’t see one of the other girls before Marcie. I can only imagine that we’d still be waiting for you if you brought Amelia back to the hut.”

Sasha jumped in. “Not so sure on that one. But she’s calmed down quite a bit today. I suspect you did something, Dar?”

He sighed and explained his conversation he had with her earlier, that he was interested in the physical, but not without an emotional connection to go with it.

“That she stayed means she’ll try for that as well.” Sasha explained.

“Right, but I’m not in any rush. I’m not really sure what I’m supposed to do with Mika, either. She was the first we were all interested in, but it’s progressed more slowly. We probably need some more one-on-one time.”

Dar watched as Sasha tried and failed to hold back an ‘I told you so’ look. And she was right. Cherry and Sasha had wanted him to approach Mika earlier. Now he had some work to do to make sure she knew he was interested.

“And then there’s Neko, who has been worming her way quickly into your life.” Cherry smiled. “And she’s hot as hell, not to mention that whole mix between both wild yet innocent. If you don’t pull Neko into this hut soon, I might just drag her in first.”

Dar sighed. “Really? You want more people in the family that much?”

“Sure. It’s a way to build bonds, and not just physical. Plus, it will entwine our dao paths, allowing you to try and meditate on their dao as well.”

Dar was surprised she’d brought it up. “I thought both of you wanted me to stop doing that now?”

They shared a look, seeming to debate who would tell him. It appeared Sasha lost. “After the other day, when you almost…” her voice cracked, and she pivoted where she was going. “It’s less dangerous for you to pursue more power in the cave than go face a thousand devils without the power. We realize that. But we don’t like that both choices are so dangerous.”

Dar pulled Sasha close and kissed her. “I love you both, and I’ll fight to be here for you every night. But I agree. If I’m to defeat the devils or even fight for a Hearthway to become a place in this world, then I’m going to need to be stronger faster.”

“We know.” Cherry grinned and sank down onto her knees, pulling at his pants. “Which is why we should use this time to further entangle our dao paths, so you can have a fresh boost if you meditate on them soon.”

There was no argument from him. He’d take time with his girls whenever he could.

Tangling his hands in Cherry’s green hair, he felt Sasha press her soft body up behind him. Smiling, Dar turned his head and kissed her.

Cherry had his stiff member out in the cool air but she paused.

He pulled himself away from Sasha to her biting her lip and a question in her eyes. “Do you really like it when two of your girls enjoy each other?”

“Tremendously.” Dar answered and pulled Cherry to her feet. “Would you like to try? Both of you?”

“Wouldn’t be the first time with another girl.” Sasha purred into his ear.

Dar swallowed loudly as Sasha came around to his front, trailing a finger across his arm only to collect Cherry in her arms and the two of them kissed. There was something about the contrast between Sasha’s pink lips and Cherry’s red ones tangling together that made Dar’s breathing heavier.

Cherry pushed back, coming up to breathe, and gave Dar a half lidded look. “Oh, he does like that quite a bit.”

Still in each other’s arms, they both gave him hungry looks.

“You are both gorgeous.” He sat down to watch the two of them.

Sasha whirling Cherry around so she was behind the smaller woman, with them both facing Dar. But then Sasha’s hands disappeared into Cherry’s clothing, caressing the Dryad’s stomach and working their way up while her pink lips kissed along Cherry’s neck.

Cherry looped her arms back over Sasha’s neck and extended her own neck for Sasha to continue kissing. “So soft.”

“Here I thought you liked hard things.” Sasha teased, one hand twisting on Cherry’s chest and eliciting a moan.

“Soft can be good sometimes, too. Variety is the spice of life.” Cherry pulled on Sasha’s head and they kissed again

They broke their kiss again and watched him. His throat was dry and his breathing short. Just watching those two was an experience in of itself.

Sasha’s other hand wandered down between Cherry’s legs moving in slow circles while the other kept her chest captive and occupied. “Look at him.”

Cherry’s eyes were looking hazy with pleasure as Sasha continued to play her like a fiddle. “I like the way he’s looking at me.”

“I do too. He looks so… hungry for us right now.” Sasha licked her lips, but there was a second wet sound down between Cherry’s legs just before the dryad let out a long satisfied moan. “So hungry. Sasha kept eye contact with him while her finger squished into Cherry’s sex.

The Dryad rolled her head back, moaning as she wiggled her hips, pushing Sasha’s fingers deeper into her sex. “More.”

Wet noises accelerated as Sasha’s hand continued to work under Cherry’s dress and the Dryad’s moaning pitched up into soft breathy screams. “Fuck. I love you both. Yes.”

Sasha smiled, still locked in a strange staring contest with Dar. “Think I should finish her?”

“Yes.” He found himself saying without thinking and watched as the bulge under Cherry’s dress vibrated, bringing the Dryad to full on screams till she let out one final yell of pleasure and started to come down.

“She’s soaking wet for you now, Dar.” Sasha spread Cherry’s legs. “Join us.”
