Hello my patrons! For the next video, we are back to the SWTPC and It's doing something I never thought would happen. I got it booting off the original Smoke Signal broadcasting floppy controller that was in this machine. (The BFD-68) The controller was pretty much undocumented until a wonder patron shared some technical details about the card. With that and a found Kryoflux boot disk image, the system is booting once again!

It was a long road to booting DOS68 on the old SWTPC 6800

The SWTPC 6800 is back and this time we're booting the system using the original 1977 Smoke Signal Broadcasting BFD-68 disk controller and a SSB DOS68 disc image found on archive.org. This was one hell of a deep dive on disk formats and troubleshooting, loved it. Disk preservation is so much more complicated than I originally thought. It's no wonder so many images off archive.org don't work properly.
