Update: Thanks to Patron Hein Andre Grønnestad, all of the passwords have been reversed! Thank you everyone for helping and doing it so quickly!! ♥

---

Hello my patrons! I extracted these root password hashes from the Plexus P/20 -- these are UNIX System V passwords, if that helps. I figured in 2024 it should be easy to reverse 40 year old password hashes using modern gear. These are the same hashes seen in the Part 1 on the Plexus machine, I just put them here as they were easier to copy and paste. Thanks for any help you can give!

I'm wondering what kind of bootloader it uses. There were some fancy things in the ROM, right? If it were to allow to enter some parameters to override the init, you could give it /bin/sh and you're in. Change password and reboot.

I found some docs to another plexus model (not docs just info on how to I apply a tape based OS upgrade) It has some command line thing sadly mostly says refer to the manul for full info on usage. (Which we don't have for any plexus model)

Is it possible that this thing didn't use a partition table at all, and that the filesystem just started at the very beginning of the disk?

We are still trying to figure it out -- it does seem to use partitions, two of them, but we haven't quite figured it out. I don't want to post the whole HD image yet as this machine belonged to a company and could have confidential stuff in it, like employee records, PII, etc.
