Hello my patrons! Next up on the second channel something a little less punishing (compared to that motherboard.) We have a DEC VT-220 terminal test and try. Does it work and if so, can I get online with it?

I find terminals fascinating, but they're not as cool as computers. For the amount of room they take up, I wish someone would make a cheap, dedicated serial terminal project using an RP2040 or ESP32 with RS232 and VGA or composite video output. That way, I could replace the need to keep terminals around and just use a composite monitor and keyboard that I already have. If you're aware of something like this, please let me know! (I do have one of those ESP32VGA things and while it has a terminal of sorts, it doesn't have a RS232 port.)

Thanks for all your support!

FUN! Thank you!

I loved this! "Dialing" into the BBS reminded me of when I was grounded from the family PC but still wanted to call BBSes, so a friend snuck a dumb terminal that his dad's work was getting rid of into my room. I didn't want to give up playing Trade Wars 2002!
