Meet the community - Jordy Servaes (Patreon)

Jordy is a friend and a student of mine from Apeldoorn, the Netherlands.

Jordy is a singer-songwriter, plays both acoustic and electric guitars, and is a very creative and talented guy, who builds environmental friendly tiny houses from wood.

In this video we are playing together the classic rock song "Riders on the storm" by the Doors.

About the arrangement

We were working on dynamics between the acoustic guitar, electric guitar and foot percussion (Kajon & foot snare), to create a "mini rock band" sound with only 2 people.

Notice Jordy's acoustic guitar playing: he's using palm muting on the low strings to create a steady 8th notes rhythm that compliments the bass & snare I am playing.

On top of that he's adding the melodic line of the original song on the top strings.

This allows me to use the electric guitar as an extra layer for more creative, colorful sounds and bluesy fillers.
