Playing Censorship Apologist Bingo

Censorship is one of the biggest problems facing Anime and Japanese Gaming. One thing that makes fighting this censorship difficult is when people make excuses for it. We call these people censorship apologists, and for this video I'll be debunking a number of their excuses. Want reliable notifications for all my videos? This video is fair use under U.S. copyright law because it is (1) transformative in nature, the video is a journalistic commentary on popular media (2) uses no more of the original work than necessary for the video's purpose, the claimed duration is an edited clip for rhetoric, and (3) does not compete with the original work and could have no negative affect on its market. i'm usually tolerant of censorship. but I will admit when watching the source THEN the censored versions, I say the censorship either weakens the emotional impact of a scene at best to outright making it nonsensical at worst.

Rather than censoring a product or even giving it a rating, I think it makes more sense for things to simply label potentially sensitive stuff like nudity, sex, etc. That way, the consumers get to decide whether to buy something or not.

A rating, or at least some kind of flag, would let people know they need to reed the content warning first. But I agree that content shouldn't at all hinder someone's ability to purchase it.
