Celebrating Anime Artists - Satoshi Urushihara

I want to start celebrating different artists who draw or work in an anime/manga style. Considering the heart of this fandom really is the artist, I want to do what I can to promote them. Today, I look at Satoshi Urushihara, an illustrator and animator most prominent during the 80s and 90s. Want reliable notifications for all my videos? Ah Satoshi Urushihara, also known as the man who draws the ultimate breast shape. :D So, after watching the video I need to actually sort of defend Sage a bit, not so much the NC, have at that one however you will I'm not going to argue that one. However, I do feel the need to play a little devil's advocate here. Sage doesn't actually sit back and mock the series, but he rather provides an object view of each series or OVA he reviews. In each of his reviews he does point out both the good and the bad in each one. A good example of this is he mentions in his review of the older anime L.i.l.y Cat. There is an entire scene that was devoted to just nothing but watching two characters change out of a pair of space suits. He was in awed of it. As most people might point out, what exactly does this add to the story, answer is nothing honestly. However, it does add to the overall product by showing exactly well the scene was drawn, the extreme amount of detail that went into the motions of how the characters moved and even though it was done at a wide angle the scene is so beautifully animated that it honestly isn't hindered by the wide angle shot. Sage himself was in all honestly simply blown away by that one minor detail. Another thing that I think about those earlier titles you mentioned about was that it was a lot freer of a time. They weren't beholden to anything back then and creators could do more. Which means invariable there going to be good titles and bad titles. Yet what makes this era so unique and so memorable was the fact of these artist tried to create something, weather it was bad or good didn't honestly matter, what mattered was what they created. Which yes sad to say by and large there was more bad titles created than good ones. Yet why do we remember these titles to this day? We remember them because they were bad and because much like in western animation this would lead to a sort of renaissance. In the Late 90s into the early to mid and almost into the late 2000s you sort of enter a bit of a golden age of anime titles where there were so many good titles created. A perfect example of this without very own near and dear Fate series. Many deride the Studio Deen version of Fate, yet because of it we wouldn't have such good titles as what Ufotable ended up doing with Zero, UBW and HF. In that near decade we got many, many good and beloved titles. Like Slayers, Full Metal Alchemist, Full Metal Panic, Chrono Trigger (Though in all honestly have read the manga it was infinitely better.), Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Naruto, Bleach, Fairy Tale, plus a number of others that I can't quite remember off the top of my head. They say the mark of a true fan is one acknowledges both the good and the bad side of their chosen fandom. Yet even though we acknowledge the bad we still love the fandom because we love it so completely. Anyway sorry for the little rant there, but I did at least feel the need to defend someone in your video. If you still disagree with me well that is something I can respect and not worry over, it. It won't stop me watching your stuff as well I love it and I do sincerely look forward to the next video. Which by the way you might not think it was good, but your rendition of Dai-chan in Urushihara's style was pretty rockin, don't sell yourself too short. Looking forward to the next video.

All I can really say is that I don't consider those sorts of things "bad". Anyway, I have no reason to call him out anymore. It's just my annoyance at anime like Plastic Little and Lemnear being bunched in with anime that really do seem poorly made.
