Some of you may remember. I drew salmon 5 years ago in 2018!

Oh... Looking back now, I don't know why I drew that dorsal fin so long and large. Maybe at that time, I drew it the way I wanted to draw it~ 

By the time I painted this picture, I was so focused on being prolific that I didn't seem to be able to spend enough research time on a single picture as I do now. In a sense, I like my old drawings too, but comparing the past one with the same theme, it feels good to be express well what I want more now 😁

In the case of fish that are treated as edible, the mindset when drawing is a little different. Since they are already treated as food more than animal in many public. I wanted to emphasize their cool shape and aliveness. I drew a cute young fish and active figure adult fish together. 

Originally, I was planning to draw their ocean form together, ultimately, it was excluded for two reasons.

1. Seasonal reasons

August to November is the season when salmon stay in fresh water to spawn, and it's November, so I focused on spawning color.

2. Color

I took the color points as red and green, but because the ocean form has silver and dark blue color.

As for the mouth of the salmon, some salmon are black, some are white, and some have white mouths and black gums, but I chose pink and red for design reasons. For example, a white mouth would be hard to see against a light background and stand out too much against a dark background.
