Blue Betta WIP / [wip/wallpaper] Butterfly betta / Koi betta WIP

Koi betta WIP / Two crowntail bettas WIP / Bettas and poppies

One of the freshwater fish I draw often is Betta.

I think I drew it often with doodles too.

Betta are probably one of the most famous fish for those who have freshwater fish tank.

Although they are freshwater fish, they are often mistaken for saltwater fish by public.

I've never had keep bettas, but I've been fascinated by their beautiful tails.

They have been bred by people in different colors and tails, and I focused on these different tail shapes and patterns.

Yes, it always hurts my heart to see so many fish growing in small cups that not even tank,, don't have filtration facilities.

It is so sad. Sometimes its people geuinely not being informed, and other times its them not caring because "I can get a new one". Its heartbreaking

More betta art from you!! I love this one! Reminds me of your older ones :)

pikaole

Thank you so much Malika! Glad you like my new betta art too XD

Yes, this happens to many animals, but it seems to happen more often with fish. I get upset every time I see it T_T

It happens more to fish because usually people arent educated enough that fish has certain needs that must be met and you cant just throw them in a 1L water tank and call it a day 😅

Seriously, just because they don't make noise we can hear, people assume they are decoration :'(

These are so beautiful! Your style has changed so much from the betta fish you used to draw YEARS ago haha It's fun to see. I love betta fish - I might not keep them anymore as pets but they are so beautiful and fun and full of personality. There's so many beautiful variations <3 Plakats are probs my fav

Which they arent! They're living- water-breathing being. They dont deserve this treatment

pikaole

Yes, and low price, low knowledge, people seem to buy it easily without sufficient preparation. I'm so sad..

pikaole

Haha yes that's right, I've been drawing fish all the time, trying different styles 😁 Drawing several animals in one frame at the same time and starting to make sticker packs, it has become a simple style now, but it may change again in the future??

I'm just glad there is a rise in teaching people proper fish care and what they need!

My goodness, these are some of the most beautiful fish you've ever drawn. The shading and the colors are spectacular. These are so gorgeous I can't even handle it 😭

Ive had several throughout my life. When i was going to college I had 2, one was veil tail, other was delta tail. When I lost them, i didnt get another til years later. I got an all white one that had a tinge of pink. Then again years later i got a bumblebee. I had also another pretty one but i forgot which one it was lol. I want to get another one soon. Its been a while.

Oh, there were many kinds. I'm glad I drew some of them XD. I wish your new future betta to be healthy, happy and live long with you🥰

Tysm! I miss my very first betta I had. He was the most unique and had his own personality than the others I've had. He also lived fairly long I think. I love all the bettas you drew. There are so much more different color variations

pikaole

Oh, I know i know. I also sometimes miss some of fish with unique personalities that I raised... The Corydoras I raise have a long lifespan, so I have long memories with them.

These are so pretty! I had a Betta fish when I was a kid, and it looked a lot like the red veil tail.
