This is a very popular bread here.

There is chocolate cream inside the fluffy conch shell.

So, we call them 'conch bread' in Korean.

(by the way, Madeleine is Madeleine)

and hermit crab is 'conch crab' in my language,

so when I ate this bread a while ago I thought of this...

It's a little different from Madeleine, but there's a different kind of 'Clam Bread' called 'Clam Bread'. The bread contains chocolate or red bean paste.

Then I immediately thought of Madeleine. They are also shell-based breads.

thank you!

Wallpaper will be updated soon :D

These are amazing and delicious! We have something similar with the conch shells called “conchas” in Spanish!

Thanks Marie! Cream hearmit crabs are happy in the conch house of bread.

I love the design, but I havent had those cream filled pasteries in so long and now I'm hungry 🤣

pikaole

Hahahaha I too was so hungry while drawing this picture that I kept eating the caramel. When I wake up tomorrow, I'm going to buy some bread!

I love baking madelines! They are surprisingly cooperative if you follow the recipe and there's nothing as good as fresh madelines.

Oh I see! Madeleine is quite expensive compared to other breads at Korean bakeries, so I thought it would be difficult to make.

fred

Nope, they are fairly easy! It does help to have the madeleine pan so they have the right shape (and rise - you can tell they are ready when they develop that classic "hump"). They might be expensive because people think they are fancy?

pikaole

I guess that might be the case. Or is the raw material expensive? Madeleine is about $2 per small one piece at my local bakery.

fred

Nope, just sugar, eggs, butter, a little flour and baking powder, lemon peel. That's it! They don't even take that long to make. Just 10-12 minutes in the oven. They're faster than cookies because you don't even have to shape them. You can make a batch in maybe 20 minutes (plus 30 minutes to rest the batter)? Less if you do it a lot.

pikaole

Oh I see, it would be nice to make them someday when I get my own oven!

fred

Yeah or if you can borrow the kitchen of someone who has an oven. Have a baking party together :)
