[ drawing ] Humming bird (Patreon)

Sometimes a color palette first(and animals second) comes into my head first.

I thought about green, blue, red colors... and  the hummingbird came to my mind.

In our country, we call them 'bee bird' because they act like bees.

I've been painting hummingbirds a few times.

This is the last illust I drew.

When I drew this , I was asked by the publisher to paint it not cute.

Because it was a textbook for middle school students.

Well, The picture above is still cute because it is the first version that I sent. 😅

Just because the painting's still cute, I remember making a lot of modification haha. 

Now that I can draw personal work(thanks to you guys!), I can draw them cute as I want. 

I will draw more simple and characteristically..

To be good at simplification, first we need to know the structure of the animals.

I looked at anatomy and YouTube videos.
They had a much longer neck bone than I thought.
Their necks stretch long as they feed the baby.
And the hummingbird's tongue is very long.... I don't know if I'm going to draw this, but it's cool..
