[wip / wallpaper] Strawberry peacock cichlid

I've been drawing a lot of pictures related to strawberries and animals. I've also drawn strawberry squids a few times. But since I recently drew a lemon shark, I wanted to draw a combination of fruits and sea creatures again.

I realized that I prefer pink or green backgrounds when I draw strawberries. Strawberry squid live in the deep sea and photophores along its body, so a dark background would suit them too. But I'd go for pink. It's a soft pastel that reminds me of whipped cream with strawberry shortcake. means super cute color.

Like the Lemon Shark, I was going to draw other animals with strawberry in their names at first, but this time I'm just going to draw the squid alone. That's because I want to draw a lot of squid 🦑🦑🦑

In the past, rough sketches at this stage were drawn on paper with colored pencils.

🍓 Strawberry poison milk WIP 

I was searching for related posts and came across this after a long time and it brought back memories. Digital is convenient in all aspects, but sometimes, analog processes are fun to watch and give a good feeling.

 The color will be something like this. This year I ate white strawberries for the first time (they're called pineberries?), and I thought they'd be cute.

To me, the squid's fins look like ribbons sometimes. So I briefly considered drawing ribbons and eyelashes...The eyelashes seemed to make their big eyes stand out. It would be cute, but I thought it would blur the 'strawberry' concept. So I ruled that idea out. But maybe I'll draw it later.
