When I think of succulents, the plants image that come to mind are all here.
There are so many fascinating types of succulents that it was hard to choose just a few.
I like succulents, but before drawing this picture, I didn't really know the difference between the types of plants. It's pretty distinguishable now and I'm so happy about that.
This is a version without text.
Which version do you prefer?
This is a succulent pot I saw in the garden of a cafe I passed by recently.
Gollum is called the Space Tree here. It looks really fun. There are many plants with interesting names.
Variegation(wiki link) is the appearance of differently coloured zones in the leaves and sometimes the stems and fruit of plants
Variegated versions of some succulents are extremely rare and command high prices.
Sedum clavatum is called 'Raul' in Korea and is very popular and famous.
This is Burro's tail (Sedum morganianum) that I saw at the botanical garden. When I took this photo just a month ago, I didn't know the name of the plant, but as I was drawing it, I immediately knew what the plant was. I wish one wall of my room looked like this 🥹
I saw a blog post about Mother of Thousands rapid growth and it was really interesting. It's truly amazing how miraculously they grow in such a short period of time 😂
The English name is '1000', but in here, an extra 0 is added to the end, meaning 'to leave behind 10,000 descendants.' Their other name is 'mexican hat plant' and that name is too cute. I don't have any plans yet, but if I make gifs with plants someday, maracas will fit in their little hands 💚
Dudleya has a thick wooden poll, so I drew a wider face 😁 And I sprinkled white powder on.
It's so amazing and cool that succulents make White powder to protect themselves.
For my next drawing, I plan to draw Mesembs. They would look cute arranged in a row.
Thanks!
