The process is better described in past posts.

In this post, like the last time, I wrote about what I felt and my thoughts while making stickers :D

These are the sticker voting results.

After the results come out, I collect my artwork and check them. These are some notes I wrote in very first stage.

  • Holographic foil would go well with ghost octopus and crab.
  • Ghost octopus may be suitable for transparent materials.
  • However, transparent materials do not suit other animals with fur.
  • Gold foil would look better on fox and otter because they have brown warm tones
  • Maybe I can choose rose gold foil instead of gold this time. However, gold seems to be more suitable for foxes.
  • I think it would be great if I tried to make some felt stickers.

I wanted to try making something new-like three-dimensional stickers, so I inquired with the factory about, but it was unsuccessful result. They say it's very difficult to make felt sticker haha. The most problem was, It required a higher minimum quantity and a larger design quantity. When I made 5 types of stickers this time, I thought it would be fun to have 1 or 2 three-dimensional stickers, but the minimum number of designs was 4...  There were other disadvantages as well. There are probably other creators who make stickers here, so I'm sharing the information I've learned.

  • Felt stickers: A lot of powder flies. High defect rate.
  • Soft, sponge-like stickers : There is a strong smell of adhesive and bond.
  • epoxy stickers : Plastic packaging required, discoloration problem. Complex outlines are not possible. High defect rate.

For this reason, I went back to the foil stickers I used made 😂

In general, I think matte (+ foil point) seems to best suit my drawing style. Perhaps if anemone fish or gecko has won the vote, I might have tried a subtle glitter coating instead of foil. I don't know what other people think, but to me as artist, the matte coating is always the best. Probably because it is closest to the original drawing I drew. Also matte gives a sophisticated feel.

----------------------------------------------------

In my initial notes, I was going to use gold foil for the otter, but I changed my mind.

My otter drawing depicts an otter swimming underwater. It's not on land. In other words, since they are in the water, what if I use hologram foil to represent the water?

Think of capybara's stickers i made.. that would be cool.

This is the first draft.

The otter's tail had to be modified for placement in limited space.

You may not have noticed, but Ghost Crab has received the most modifications at this stage.

Complex shapes are difficult to create stickers.

I simplified the outline of the character.

 This is the finished outline.

Even after making modifications, I feel that crabs have a more complicated shape than otters or squid. I think this is okay for now, but maybe it will be modified further .... file name will be'final_realfinal_final03.ai' 😅

I use Photoshop to test the final look.

I put some knife in the blank space of the crab sticker sheet.

I imagined put sticker like this.

Thank you!
