“It can really be done….” Shizu’s eyes began to well up with tears. She did not know how to thank Remmi and Tomoya. 

“We will work hard to make sure you can live a good second life.” Tomoya gently pulled Shizu into a hug. The girl once again cried her eyes out. Remmi looked at the scene with a bit of fondness. She was seeing another side of Tomoya. One where she is willing to go out of her way to help others. 

After Shizu calmed down, she looked straight at Tomoya and asked: “When can you start?”

“We first need Ifrit to come out. Once he is out, I can suck his spirit out of your body. After that, Tomo will need to take your spirit out, and then I will eat that as well. I will need to eat your body separately so it can be analyzed.” Remmi explained. Or more like she was repeating what her skill was telling her.

“Then let’s go someplace safe, shall we?” Tomoya did not want a repeat of what happened in the story. She wanted everything to be under her control. 

“Are you sure? Ifrit is very powerful…..” Shizu was worried, but Tomoya reached up and patted her head, causing her to be confused. 

“You underestimate us.” Tomoya smiled and carried Remmi into her arms before taking Shizu’s hand and shooting out of the tent and towards Victoria’s cave.

They quickly arrived at a large open room. Shizu was in a daze since they had moved so quickly that the scenery had blurred by without her getting a chance to figure out what was what. “This place is?”

“This is Victoria’s cave. I want you to let Ifrit out. Do not worry about your body. Just leave the rest to us.” Tomoya replied. “Remmi is immune to fire so she can with stand it’s flames.”

“Okay…. Then I… I will see you both after….” Shizu gave both Tomoya and Remmi a hug before stepping back. She took her mask and tossed it to Tomoya. She then took a deep breath and let it out slowly. Her body trembled as a fiery aura began to spread outwards. The entire cave seemed to turn into an oven, but Remmi and Tomoya were completely unaffected.  “Ah!” 

Shizu let out a cry of pain as her body suddenly burst into flames. Those flames wrapped around her, and in seconds, Shizu seemed to have disappeared, and Ifrit appeared. “Remmi now!”

“Got it!” Remmi’s body expanded and covered Ifrit. The spirit did not even get a chance to react before it was suddenly consumed. After a few minutes, Shizu was once more standing there, her body devoid of any energy. 

Tomoya quickly went forward and caught Shizu and held her in her arms. “Shizu, from this day forth, you will be free. Now close your eyes and relax. Before you know it, you will be reborn with a new body.” 

“Remmi… Tomoya…. Thank you…” Shizu forced a smile as TOmoya placed her hand on her head. A white light was pulled from Shizu’s body that looked like a minute Shizu. “This…” Her voice was low, but she was able to speak in her current form.

“I can’t keep you in this form like this. Your soul will scatter otherwise. Remmi needs to take you into her. So wait for when we are able to return you to a new body.” Tomoya said while handing Shizu over to Remmi. Remi wrapped her body around Shizu’s soul and took her into her body. Only then did they both turn to look at Shizu’s body. 

“What do we do with this?” Remmi asked.

“We will first bring it back to the village and explain to Irene and the rest what happened. After that, you will consume it. The process of analyzing a body should be simple. It’s the soul that will take you a while.” Tomoya knew she could do the same as Remmi could now, but she did not. This was because there was no point. Remmi could not build a body for Shizu yet, so they had to wait anyway. Plus, it was better for her to have a body made from a demon lord, Remmi, than the current Remmi.

Tomoya carried Shizu in her arms while Remmi trailed behind her. The two got back to the village about fifteen minutes later. When they walked into the tent where Irene and the rest were, silence fell upon the normally rambunctious group. “Shizu? Shizu!? What happened!?”

“The spirit within her took control. Shizu was unable to contain the power any longer. But it’s fine. I have saved her soul. When Remmi is strong enough, we plan to recreate a new body for her. I brought Shizu’s body here so that you three can say your goodbyes for now, and in the future, you can say hello again.” Tomoya walked over to a bed at the side and gently laid Shizu’s body down. “Please say your goodbyes. Remmi will need to consume the body as per Shizu’s wishes.”

“This…. This is all too soon!” Irene’s eyes quickly filled with tears as she dropped to her knees. She had really gotten close to Shizu during their travels, and now…. This was too out of nowhere for her to take in the situation.
