“So there I was…. Nom! Nom! Facing the demonic beast all by myself….. Nom! Nom! My sword was broken…. Nom! Nom! and my spiritual qi was just about all gone…. Nom! Nom! If I did not do something quickly… Nom!… Cough! Ack! Wrong tube… Anyway, so like I was saying, if I did not act quick...” The young girl, around sixteen years of age, reached out to grab another meat skewer from the stall, but her hand came up empty, causing her to frown slightly. “Hey, old man, stop being stingy! Give me another skewer!”
“Damn, kid! Pay for the ones you already ate! This is not a charity! Plus, your story is bullshit! You have no spiritual qi!” The middle-aged man held out his hand toward the young girl.
“Huh? Sir, I know I am beautiful, but I am sorry, I do not like men.” The young girl slapped the man’s hand away and reached up on the stall, taking a chicken leg from one of the baskets.
“Damn it! Stop eating and pay me!” The middle-aged man was starting to get angry. He held his hand out once more towards the girl and gave her a look of warning.
“Patui!” A wad of spit landed in the man’s hand, his face turning purple with anger.
“Why the fuck did you spit on me!?” The man roared. He wanted to kill this damn girl here and now!
“Huh? Wasn’t that what you wanted!? Didn’t you say you wanted a young girl to spit on you? Wasn’t this why you were letting me eat for free!? Now that I spat on you, are you going to go back on your words!? I already told you I don’t like men that way!” The young girl swiped another chicken leg and turned around, decisively leaving the stall, while everyone who was watching the show did their best to hold in their laughter.
“Damn it! Get back here! Someone stop her!” The middle-aged man roared. He wanted to give chase, but he couldn’t leave his stall!
“Just give it up. Everyone knows there is something wrong with Neo. She has no spiritual qi, but she has yet to be killed by anyone. She walks around doing as she pleases, and no one dares to stop her.” It was normal for the people who lived in this city to understand that there were a few rules one should follow. Strength was law. Power meant everything. And…. There was something wrong with Neo.
“Damn it! She ate so many skewers!” The middle-aged man wanted to scream and complain, but he knew it was useless. He remembered when he came here this morning for the first time. One of the other vendors warned him about a young girl named Neo, that if she showed up, it was best not to put anything worth money out in her reach or else you would be the one to suffer. He had only thought it was just the other vendor telling stories, but it seemed that the joke was on him.
As for Neo, her black hair with pink highlights walked down the city street dyed in the neon lights that lit up the nightlife. She munched on the chicken wing in her hand. She had one hand tucked in her hoodie pocket while the other spun the drumstick in her hand. The people who saw her made sure to stay a few feet away, afraid that she would steal their wallets.
One would think this was a world built on technology, but it was actually a world built on spiritual qi. Everyone cultivated and strived to reach immortality. But for Neo, who had no chance of gaining spiritual qi, things were different.
Neo sucked the last of the meat off the bone before tossing it up into the air. The bone itself caught on fire as it fell into the dumpster nearby. The contents of the dumpster suddenly burst into flames, causing those around to cry out in panic.
Neo showed no signs of caring about what she had just done. Especially not since she had just done it on purpose, but instead, she stuffed her greasy hand into her pocket and began singing a strange song. “Taco, Taco, I really want a taco! Hmmm?”
Neo backpedaled a few steps and craned her neck slightly when she saw a woman holding a child in her arms. The child was around three years of age, maybe a year younger. He was sucking on a lollipop. Neo smiled at the child and silently walked up behind the woman. The little boy looked over his mother’s shoulder, looking at Neo nervously. He watched as Neo clasped her hands over her face before suddenly shouting. “Boooo!!!!!!!!!”
“Waaah!!!!!!!!!!” The little boy cried as the lollipop fell to the ground. Neo grinned and turned to walk away. The woman who was holding the child was about to turn and yell at the person who scared her child, but when she saw Neo with her hands behind her head walking away, she did not dare to say anything.
“Something is wrong with that girl!” She muttered before turning her attention back to her child. “Shh! Shh! The scary big sister is gone now.” The woman tried to calm her child down.
Neo City. A city surrounded by walls to protect its citizens from the demonic beasts that fill the land. The young girl Neo, who appeared one day with no parents or relatives and no name, was given the name Neo since she seemed to be the embodiment of the city itself. She had no spiritual root or any spirit power at all but was someone no one dared to provoke.
This same girl was currently climbing the palace walls of Trinity Palace, which stood in the center of the city. She bypassed all the alarms and jumped down into the garden before tapping her foot off the ground and jumping up onto the balcony that overlooked the flower beds below.
The light that poured out from the well-lit room had a curtain that swayed in the wind. Inside, a young woman around Neo’s age was currently setting a few plates on the table near the window. Neo grinned, pulled the curtain aside, and said: “Little princess, let’s have sex!”
