With Sue agreeing to Tomoya’s terms, the group began its journey to the capital. During the day, Tomoya would ride with Sue and tell her stories, while at night, Tomoya would sleep in the wagon with her wives, plus one.

“She is really attached to you.” Linze was on watch duty with Tomoya. She looked down at the young girl who was using Tomoya’s lap as a pillow and smiled.

“She’s a good girl. She told me her father is always busy. Her mother is blind and the only reason she had come out this way was to try to heal her mother’s eyes.” Tomoya felt the story differed from the original at this point. She did not say it out loud since it was Sue confiding in her, but her father had been messing around with a few women on the side for the past year.

Her father was supposed to be a dedicated man so to hear this made her wonder just what changed. Sue was a cute girl who loved her family. Her father was supposed to be the same, but he had been ignoring her for a while now, leaving her feeling lonely. She also worries about her mother when she finds out about her father’s infidelity.

“I guess even nobles have it rough too.” Linze let out a sigh as she leaned against Tomoya’s shoulder and closed her eyes. They had a barrier up, so there was really no reason to be on guard, but since they had the duke’s daughter here, they couldn’t do things as they normally would.

“She is a very good girl.” Tomoya replied, gently stroking Sue’s head. She wished she could help Sue more but she would need to wait until a later time. She needed to befriend Sue’s father so she could make a connection to the king. It was very important.

The days passed, and they finally reached the capital. Luckily, just like in the original works. Duke Ortlinde acted like he should. “Sue!”

“Father!” Sue ran up and hugged her father. Tomo couldn’t help but frown inside. The poor girl was acting like things were fine, but she knew how torn up Sue was. The girl even shed tears over the things happening at home.

“You must be Tomoya and Tomoya’s companions. Thank you for saving my daughter.” Duke Ortlinde bowed his head. He seemed very grateful to Tomoya and the rest. But it was truly hard to tell how he really felt.

“It is what I should do. Sue is a cute and loveable girl. I am glad to be of service.” Tomoya did not bow since she did not want to bow to this man. It’s one thing to have multiple partners, but you can not ignore your kids or your wives.

“Come in, please come in.”

Tomoya and the girls were ushered in and brought to have tea and some pastries while Duke Ortlinde thanked everyone once again. It was here that Tomoya decided to mention his wife’s blindness.

“Duke, Sue, told me about your wife. I should be able to heal it if you would like me to give it a try. The skill recovery is something I can mimic since I can cast any kind of null magic.” Tomoya explained.

“If you could do that it would be wonderful!” Duke Ortlinde actually had a bit of hope in his eyes. Maybe he had been defaulting to other women due to his dwindling hope of curing his wife.

Tomoya was brought into a large bedroom where a chestnut brown-haired woman with big breasts lay on a bed with blank eyes. “Who’s there?”

“Ellen, it’s me.”

“Alfred? You are here?” Ellen did not seem to excited to hear her husband had come to visit her.

“I found someone who might be able to heal your eyes.”

“Oh? You actually want my eyes healed?” Tomoya raised an eyebrow. It seemed Ellen knew something was up.

“Ellen, they are already in the room. Let them try to heal you.”

“Fine, there is no harm in trying.” Ellen replied with a small snort.

“My name is Tomoya. If you would excuse me.” Tomoya suddenly wanted to make Alfred disappear so she could take his wife. She was truly a mature beauty. Then Sue could call her Papamama like Miyu! However, for some reason, Remia kept mentioning how Miyu would become Tomoya’s wife when she grew up.

“Thank you. Even if it does not work it is fine.” Ellen was very polite to Tomoya. She only seemed to hold a grudge against Alfred.

“Then excuse me.” Tomoya climbed on the bed and placed her hand in front of Ellen’s eyes: “Recovery…”

A bright light flashed and entered Ellen’s eyes before quickly dimming. “Try to open your eyes in a few seconds.”

Ellen did as she was told. She slowly opened her eyes and began blinking slightly before looking around aimlessly. It was not until her eyes landed on Alfred that her hand suddenly rose in the air and then…

 Slap!

“Bastard!”

Funny but sad. Duke Ortland was actually a great guy in the books. Thank you for the chapter!

well i needed a reason to take his wife and daughter. he was a good guy but I decided to add some realism to the fact that he is nobility. with this things are set up for a more dramatic setup later on for an idea i have planned out.
