With Yan Fei now gone it was only me and Bai Yu left in the cave. It was dimly lit and now that it was quiet, I could hear the sound of water dripping down from the ceiling. “Ummm…” I began, only to be interrupted by Bai Yu.
“Thank you. I had no idea Yan Fei had an elder outside. Not being able to realize this shows how lacking I am. And to be outdone by someone so much younger than me, too…” Bai Yu really did seem grateful but I do wonder if she realized I “Ate” the dragon egg.
“Ahem… About the egg…” I decided to mention it since it would be awkward if I didn’t.
“Don’t worry whether you ate it or hid it. It does not matter. The fact that you helped keep it out of the hands of the devil sects is good enough. We should leave here. I am sure the others are making their way here now.” Bai Yu gave me a faint smile as she turned around and began making her way out of the cave. I slowly followed behind her. I guess she trusted me enough to walk in front of maybe she felt that because she was two minor realms above me, she had nothing to worry about. Not that I would attack her.
As we walked out of the cave I gave Little Nine my thanks. “Thanks for confirming my thoughts.”
“It is nothing. This is what I should do. I am sorry it took me a while to realize that there was someone hiding in the shadows. Their technique is quite strange. No mortal should have such a technique unless it is innate.” Little Nine replied causing me to fall into deep thought. If such a person could hide from Little Nine then I do wonder what other wonders this world has hidden.

In another area of the forest, two people were running as fast as they could. One young and one old. “Young miss, I know you are mad, but If I revealed myself, then we would be chased by multiple righteous sects. Even a single attack would make me a target. And if I died, so would you. At least they were smart and allowed you to leave the cave alive.”
“I know! I just can’t stand the fact that such a brat was talking down to me. How the hell is there even a five-year-old at the qi gathering realm anyway? This makes no sense. Even the most powerful heavens chosen did not reach the qi gathering realm until they were ten! This makes me look like a waste!” The young girl could not stand the fact that she was being outshined by someone ten years younger than her. It just made no sense!
The old man sighed. He understood what his Young Miss was getting at but there were sometimes things you can not control. “It may just be a lucky encounter. You do not know one talent until they have really begun to cultivate. The next time you see her, I am sure you can easily kill her.”
“You do not need to tell me that. I already know. I will kill both that little brat and the bitch Bai Yu.”

“This here is…” Bai Yu paused and looked at me. Now that I think about it, I only knew her name, and she did not know mine.
“Zhi Ruo,” I answered while bowing my head slightly.
“Yes, this is Zhi Ruo. Thanks to her, I did not make a huge mistake. You can say she saved my life and yours. Yan Fei had an elder protecting her. If any of us had killed her, he would have killed us all.” Bai Yu went on to explain what happened in the cave before she started to introduce the others.
“These two girls are Xue Fang and Mei Lin.” Xie Fang was a short girl who carried a large two-handed sword on her back. The sheer size of the sword made it so that it had to sit at an angle on her body or else it would drag across the ground. Xie Fang’s hair stopped at her shoulders and was tied up to one side in a messy way. But this could be just because she had finished battle.
Mei Lin was a little taller but seemed to be the silent type. She had no facial expression giving her a standoffish kind of aura. Her silky black hair rained down past her waist. She was a beauty that was hard to miss. If I had to guess, she was probably very popular with the boys.
“These three here are Chen Fang, Longwei, and Minghao. Including myself, we are all Tiandao Academy disciples.” Bai Yu finished her introductions.
Chen Fang was a skinny young man but he gave off a chilling aura. But he did not seem to be hostile towards anyone in particular. It could be his cultivation method. He had short hair, the shortest out of all three young men.
Longwei seemed like the pretty boy type. He had long hair that went down to his waist like Mei Lin’s, but for some reason, it seemed he was wearing makeup of some kind. Even his hair seemed in better shape than Mei Lins.
As for Ming Hao… All I can say is he was round. Very, very round. But he had a bright smile on his face and the feeling I got from him was that he was a likeable person.
Lastly, there was Bai Yu. She had ice-blue eyes, which was strange, and even the tips of her hair were slightly blue. My guess was she had opened up her elemental alignment. She had shoulder-length hair and was quite the beauty herself. With how easygoing she was, I can see why she seemed to be the leader of this group.
