To find as much information as she could about space-time magic, Yuki found herself standing in front of White Stone Magi Academy’s front gates with Lilly. “Do I really need to go to classes just to learn what I want to learn?”

“My father could only get you in through the back door. To gain access to the library, you need to be a full-time student. Classes will be helpful to you as well, I am sure. Don’t worry about the tests.” Lilly tried to reassure Yuki that she only needed to listen and nothing more. Tests and other things could be ignored.

“Then I have no other choice.” For Nana, Yuki was willing to suffer through classes that would not teach her much more than Lilly had already taught her; her method of using runic circles was already much different and simpler to use. Her main goal was the library.

“Just try to hang in there. I will be with you through it all.” Lilly gave a wary smile as she stepped through the gates. Yuki followed behind her. She, too, was now wearing a White Stone Magi Academy uniform and cloak. It was mandatory. It did feel a bit stuffy, but Yuki found it easy to move in as long as she tossed the cloak away. It seemed to be something that would get in the way if she were to fight with it on.

The academy was quite massive, along with its many buildings, there were many training fields for the varying grades. Grades were not made up by the age of a person but by the number of circles. In order to progress to the next grade you would need to have a higher runic circle. Lilly had just formed her second runic circle. So Yuki had to form one as well. She now had one fire and one lightning runic circle.

Some would think she was crazy for not forming a second fire runic circle, but Yuki used her circles so well that there was no need for a second runic circle since she could just adjust her first runic circle to cast a second runic circle spell.

As Yuki walked into the building for second runic circle mages, she caught the attention of everyone there. Not only because she was a new face but her beauty stood out amongst the rest.

“Who is that?”

“No idea but she is more beautiful than the current goddess. I wonder if Claire will be knocked off her throne.”

“I don’t know. She has a devout following.”

“Either way I think we will be in for a good show. I kind of feel bad for the new girl.”

Yuki could hear all the murmurs around her. She whispered to Lilly: “Who is this Claire? Do I need to kill her?”

“Please don’t. She is the Dean’s granddaughter. She is a bit narrow-minded so do what you need if she does try to make trouble. But you will need to show your strength. That way, you will not get in trouble. The Dean values talent above all else, including his family.” Lilly explained.

“Oh. Then I won’t hold back.” Yuki understood that this school was all about talent. Much like how things worked in sects, this academy was no different.

In another building for third-circle mages, a young woman with auburn hair was talking with her followers when a young girl ran over. “Miss Benson! You might be in trouble.”

“Hmm? Trouble? How could I be in trouble? As far as I know, there is no one in this school who can cause me to get into trouble.” This Miss Benson was actually Claire Benson, the Dean’s Granddaughter.

“A… A new girl arrived at the second circle building and people are saying she is much more beautiful than you. That you will lose your standing as the academy’s goddess.” The girl explained as she caught her breath. She had just run all the way here as fast as she could, even working up a sweat as she did.

“Hmm? Someone more beautiful than me? I really wish to meet this person. It seems after classes today, I will make my way over to the second circle building and take a look at this girl.” While she seemed calm and composed on the outside inside, she was gritting her teeth, wanting to rush over to the other building now to see this girl. And if she was indeed more beautiful, she would tear up her face so that she could never show it in public again! No one was allowed to steal her title. She was the Dean’s granddaughter! She had to keep her spot no matter what.

Claire really cared about her position as the academy’s goddess. She would not allow anyone to steal what belonged to her. She had already made sure any competition was unable to return to the academy.

“I highly doubt there is anyone more beautiful than Miss Benson. I suggest you not listen to such stupid rumors.” One of Claire’s lackeys stepped in. She was trying to suck up a little so that Claire would see her in a better light. Little did she know that Claire could care less about the people around her. They were all just tools for her to use. When one was not useful she would toss it away.
