“Hmm… Starlight Veil Path. This does not suit me at all. You would need to basically be a night owl since it needs you to cultivate under the stars and bathe in the starlight. If it is cloudy then you can’t cultivate so basically no good. But Dragon Sovereign Celestial Scripture. This one…” My eyes lit up. This cultivation method was something created by a Celestial Sovereign. It focused on those with dragon type traits. Allowing them to bring out their true power.
By cultivating to the first layer, I will be able to gain Dragon's Might, which will triple my strength. It says there are nine layers but the first layer is the only one I can see at this time. But that is fine. As I progress through the first layer my strength will rise up to be ten times stronger.
I wanted to tell my mother the good news, but I first needed to stabilize my current cultivation. The Dragon Sovereign Celestial Scripture’s first layer required me to do two things. One was I had to practice a set of martial arts moves under the morning sun, afternoon sun, and at dusk. This had to be done for an hour each time. It drew in the yang energy from the sun to strengthen my bones and muscles. While cultivating, I had to follow a certain path through my meridians. This was going to take some time to get the hang of to be able to do it naturally.
I sat down and started circulating the Dragon Sovereign Celestial Scripture through my body. Slowly at first as I got the hang of the rotation and once I did I could feel a surge of spiritual qi pushing through my body. I could even feel my meridians strengthening at a rapid pace due to the amount of spiritual qi I was taking in.
Little by little, I felt drop after drop of spiritual qi gathering in my dantian. Once I felt my foundation had been stabilized, I finally opened my eyes and let out a long breath, expelling some of the impurities in my body. With a smile, I stood up and stretched. “Time to go, surprise Mother!”
I left the room and looked around to see my mother tending to some herbs I brought in earlier. She was humming a song as she smiled softly at the herbs in the wooden pots. “Mother, I broke through!”
“Ruo’er!?” My mother turned with a look of surprise on her face. I was not even six years old yet, and I had already become a rank one qi gathering cultivator. This was to be expected since even with proper resources it would take most a few years to reach qi gathering. As to why my cultivation was so fast, I do not know. But what I do know is that I was quite proud of myself!
Pride can be good and bad. If I think too highly of myself and do not know my limits I could easily die. But… at the same time, hiding in fear of the strong is also not good. One needed to know when to run away. If you can not win even after going all out, then you must do everything you can to escape. Even if you lose an arm or leg in the process.
“Ruo’er, you really broke through!” My mother’s tears dripped down her cheeks as she hugged me tightly. I hugged her back and nuzzled my face into her stomach.
“Once we heal your dantian, I also have a really good cultivation method that would suit you well.” Starlight Veil Path did not fit me but for my mother, it would be good.
“We will have to wait and see.” My mother still did not seem hopeful, but I was. I would not give up until she was fully healed, no matter what! I will continue to grow stronger and stronger until I can find a cure for my mother.
“Of Right! I can now enter the first floor of the Pagoda! Little Nine!” I called out. I was actually very excited to see what was on the first floor.
I pulled my mother along, as I led her out of the courtyard to see the first floor of the pagoda standing now visible behind the golden platform where the jade pillow was. I plan to use the jade pillow from now on to cultivate. I did not know its effects just yet so I did not dare to use it when breaking through. The last thing I wanted was to cripple myself.
“Master, the door is open and congratulations on breaking through.” Little Nine voice enter my ears.
“Thanks,” I replied while pulling my past the platform and into the pagoda. When we entered, the smell of herbs filled my nose. I looked around to see that the first floor did not look like the inside of a building but actually looked like a massive garden with two small huts in the back.
“This floor is all about refining pills and armament crafting.” Little Nine explained which made my eyes lit up. This was perfect. This was exactly what I needed at this time. If there was a pill furnace here then I would be able to refine higher quality pills! My eyes lit up with greed as I looked around. There were a lot of rank-one spiritual herbs here which was perfect.
“Herbs will grow ten times faster if planted here. I can not speed up the process any more than this.” Little Nine explained.
“Just having this much was plenty. And Little Nine, ten times faster, is already quite amazing. If you were to grow them normally, it would take a full year for them to mature. But if you can do it ten times faster I could have an unlimited number of herbs to quickly build up a stockpile for myself and my mother. Not to mention selling them.” I knew at this moment, at the thought of being able to sell these pills, that my eyes had transformed into silver teals.
