“Shizu, this is not the way back.” Rose was confused. They seemed to have been walking around in a circle for the past hour now.

“I know. We are being followed, so I am waiting for them to give up. I mean I got all the time in the world I can walk around for days. If you get tired let me know I will carry you.” Shizuku really had great stamina, so she was not worried about getting tired anytime soon. It was only a matter if the people were willing to continue doing circles with her.

Of course, Shizuku’s actions had not gone unnoticed. “What the hell is she doing!? Why is she walking in circles like this!?”

“I think she knows we are following her.” The browned-haired girl replied.

“Yeah. I mean, we have been going in circles for hours, and she has been walking around at a slow pace without a care in the world. If we appear, she will probably kill us both, but if we back off and attack her again at a later date, we might have a chance of killing her then.” The blonde-haired girl suggested. She really did not want to get close to this girl.

“No! If she were to take the chance when we do not have her under our watch to escape, then we are screwed. We will have to search for her all over again.” Rufus refused to give up. “Let’s see who can last longer!”

Five hours passed, and the sun was starting to settle toward then evening sky. “Damn it! Damn it! What is wrong with this girl!? Fuck it. We will just attack now. There is no point and wasting any more time.”

“Good luck.” The brown-haired girl said, taking out a handkerchief from her pocket and waving it while pretending to sob.

“Yes, I wish you good luck. I seem to have stubbed my toe, so I can no longer move.” The blonde-haired girl was of the same mind as her friend. They did not wish to fight this girl!

“I will cut you into pieces if you do not move!” Rufus yelled out.

The girls both looked at each other before nodding and standing up. “Lead the way.”

Rufus snorted and jumped off the top of the building, landing in front of Shizuku. Shizuku looked at the young man who had appeared and then at the two girls behind him and side. She went to raise her hand and kill all three of them, but she stopped when the two girls suddenly dropped to the ground. “Ahh! She got us! I dead.” “Ah! She made me stub my toe again! I can no longer live!

“Uh…” Shizuku looked at the two girls who fell to the ground and then at the young man who was beet red in the face. “Are we done?”

“Fuck! You bitches!” Rufus yelled out he wanted to kick the two girls, but he couldn’t, not when the enemy was standing there. He turned and reached for his sword, but before he could even grip it, his eyes rolled up into the back of his head, and he fell to the ground lifeless.

“Oh!” The two girls sat up and began clapping. “Very good. He finally died.” Both girls smiled and then stood up, dusting their clothes off before turning and giving Shizuku a polite bow. “We are sorry to disturb you. We were under a contract, so we had to follow this idiot. Now that he is dead, the contract is over, and we can go back home. Hopefully, we will never meet under these conditions again.”

“Alright. Have fun. Make sure before taking a contract next time you check your employer’s sanity. I mean he followed me in a loop around the city for so many hours.” Shizuku sighed. She had wasted so much time today because of this.

“Then I would suggest taking his space pouch. Also, we were able to retrieve the other person's space pouch as well.” The blonde-headed girl stepped forward and handed over the pouch. “The items on a vampire during a battle between vampires, the deceased belongings go to the winner.”

“I will have to remember this.” Shizuku nodded and took the pouch. She then watched as the two girls ran away, quickly disappearing before turning to gather Rufu’s space pouch.

“What was all that!?” Rose was so utterly confused!

“Vampires can only raise their rank by killing other vampires. But killing pawns means you need to kill over a thousand of them to raise your rank. But to quickly raise your rank, you will need to kill four of those of a higher rank. Vampires have a long lineage and have thousands of members in a single clan, so pawns are quite abundant. Most are scared of battle, and only a select few will be willing to fight. But they would rather kill pawns instead of knights since trying to kill a knight, unless you were very powerful, would be suicide, well, unless you were me.”
