“So this is the barrier…” Yuki stood in front of a purplish barrier that flowed with strange runic markings. “Any of you seen these markings before?”

“No. Nothing I have discovered all this time has ever had such markings, and I have read many ancient texts,” Selene replied. She was very much interested in the markings, but without anything even remotely close to comparing them to, she could not figure out what exactly was written here, at least not for her.

“Even in the immortal realm, there is nothing like this. It does not seem to come from any race that I know of.” Rize furrowed her brow. She really wondered just what kind of being laid beyond this barrier.

“My shadows could not pass the barrier but I did see a demonic beast pass through it. I am not sure if it is because they are not alive or what.” Delia replied. She had tested before they had gotten here to check to see if she could see inside.

“I guess we can try to walk through it but we should all go in at once holding hands.” Yuki was afraid they would get separated.

The girls all lined up and held hands, as Yuki had suggested. Each one looked at the other to confirm that they were all ready. “On the count of three.”

“One….”

“Two…”

“Three!” They all took a step at the same time and stepped through the barrier.

“I can’t see anything,” Chi complained, but soon, a ball of fire brightened up the area they were in.

“Strange. There is nothing here…” Delia did not feel good about this. The place they had just stepped through was now a strange black metal wall. “I don’t think we can leave.”

“We can just try to find a way out.” Yuki also had a bad feeling, but she did not want to start freaking out just yet. “Everyone stay hand in hand unless we are attacked. Rize protect Chi.”

“Understood. If anything happens, I will break my seal and tear a hole in space to allow us to escape. But just remember, it can send us anywhere. We could end up in another world or even dead.” Rize wanted to make sure everyone knew the consequences of tearing a hole in space in a rush.

“We understand. No matter what happens, it is better to try to live than to give up.” Yuki replied.

They moved deeper and deeper into the dark metal underground structure. They seemed to be in some kind of hallway. They walked for quite a ways before finally coming to a stop when they felt something crunching under their feet. “Bones?”

They had just come to the end of the hallway, and now there was a mass grave of demonic beast bones and even human bones. “Everything here has had the spiritual qi or demonic qi sucked out of it.” Delia’s face paled. “We should back up. And back up now.”

“Yes…” Yuki also felt the same way. If they moved out any futher she felt that they would end up being killed instantly.

“Hmmm? A fresh meal? And a big one at that. How long has it been since cultivators came here.” A booming voice echoed through the hall, causing everyone to feel a heavy pressure way down on them. This was followed by a sudden bright light shooting towards them.

“Nana!” Yuki cried out as Nana jumped in front of her, shielding her from the bright light. Nana’s cultivation seemed to be getting stripped from her. “Rize quickly!”

“Got it!” Rize’s body flashed with a bright light as her seal was broken and waved her hand tearing the space in front of them. “Let’s go!”

Rize grabbed Chi and shoved her through the tear, then yanked Selene and Silvia with her spiritual qi and tossed them through. The hard part was Delia, Yuki, and Nana. They were both trying to free Nana. “Yuki! Let me do it. You and Delia need to get out of here!”

“I am not leaving without Nana!” Yuki could feel her own cultivation slowly starting to drop. Nana’s cultivation had already fallen back to the primordial core stage.

“I can’t let any of you die!” Rize had no other choice. She wrapped both Yuki and Delia up in her spiritual qi as she jumped forward and grabbed hold of Nana while tossing the two girls through the tear.

Yuki could only watch as Rize struggled to try to free Nana as she passed through the tear. “Rize! Nana!”

Thump!

Yuki landed hard on her butt and rolled a few times. The area around her was bright and the sky above was blue with a purple tinge. “Nana! Rize.” Yuki got to her feet and looked around. But all she saw was grass, and a tiger girl face first in the grass with her butt up in the air. “Delia!”

“This dirt is nasty…” Delia flopped over and looked up at the sky. “No one else is around, just us.”

“Where are we? I can barely feel any spiritual qi in the air.” Yuki was not happy at all. This place was like a dead zone.

“Not sure. But I do not think this is the mortal realm or any cultivation realm. But I Know one thing. Nana is fine. I saw Rize jumping towards the tear with Nana in her arms right before my view changed. But I think we are all split up. For now, we need to figure out where we are and what this place is.” Delia stood up and dusted herself off.

Yuki, on the other hand, let out a sigh of relief. She hoped that She could meet up with the others soon. However, her own cultivation dripped to the early stages of the nascent soul realm. “Let’s hope we can meet the others soon.”
