“You dare to go against me!? Goddess Yunni will see you as a sinner!” The priest yelled out and took a step up onto the stairs, only for a wave of compressed air to hit him in the gut, sending him rolling across the ground.

“That was a warning. You can call me a sinner all you want, but I would rather follow my belief that Goddess Yunni sees all races as equal. I would rather befriend the ugliest of undeads than treat you as some kind of saint. All those connected to the church are not allowed to enter. All true citizens of this village are allowed to enter as long as they do not cause trouble. I will not say this again.” Lishia’s words weighed heavy on the few priests standing in the crowd. They were not as arrogant as the head priest who had just been sent flying.

“Can I ask if we can denounce our faith in the church? Not to Goddess Yunni herself but the church.” One younger priest yelled out. His eyes looked at Lishia with hope in them.

“If you tear off your robes and follow orders, then yes. You can enter.”  Lishia nodded in approval. It was not the faith in the goddess she hated. It was the church.

“Thank you! Thank you!” The young man quickly tore his robes off, leaving him in nothing but his underwear, but he did not care. He was not the only one who did it. All the other priests did the same. One even yelled out: “ You are truly a kind soul.”

“It is not me who is kind. Princess Shizuku is the one who is allowing this. She is the one who asked me to protect this building all because the owner and her family had been so kind to her. She is more benevolent than you ex-priests who dealt with worshipers every day. And she is not asking for a single gold coin, unlike the church. She is only protecting those inside this inn because of her kindness. Even if half of you hate her, she is still willing to protect you. If not for her, this town…. Heh”

Lishia chuckled as she continued: “I wonder just how many of you would have died.”

As Lishia spoke, a loud bang was heard, and a man was tossed out of the inn. His face, full of blood. “And stay out, you fucking bastard! Princess Shizuku was kind enough to let you in, and you dared to try to attack her!?”

“Oh?” Lishia looked over at Number Five, who was standing next to the man. She reached down, grabbed him, and tossed him into the middle of the street where the monsters were being held off. The monsters dived onto the man and began ripping him apart. Not a single person there said a word. This was what happened if you tried to harm your savior.

Inside, Shizuku was sitting at the table with a few older women who were chatting happily with her as if the scene from before had never happened. “Princess, I got rid of that bastard. He is now dead. Your guard tossed him into the street.”

“Thanks. I owe you one.” Shizuku turned and beamed the man a smile. The man was in his late thirties so to have a young girl smile at him like that made him blush.

“I am just trying to repay you for your grace. You are using your own people to protect us from the monster stampede. There is not much we can do to repay you besides help protect you.” The man seemed to be the righteous type.

“I do appreciate it. If only the world could get along in such a manner. Protect each other. Make peace with one another and mingle more. You will find that we are not all that much different. Different cultures will always have clashes in points of view. But even those of the same race will not always see eye to eye. This is a fact a part of nature of any living being on this planet. Or any planet for that matter that has living organisms.

“Animals get into fights as well. They fight one another and others. It is no different than when a human king decides to invade another human country. Disagreements will happen no matter what, so why look down on others because of a few bad apples? A vampire who killed the previous day and the vampire who helped a human baby the day after are two different people.

“I mean, look. I can sit here among you all and speak with you all so calmly. Is there any hate?” Shizuku’s words were once more resonating with the people inside the inn. Her words seemed to really hit on the core aspect of things.

“Princess Shizuku is truly wise. If only everyone could think the way you do, then maybe things would be different.” An old lady let out a sigh. “Who would have thought that a tragedy would allow me to see the world in a new light? Thank you for allowing me to meet someone like you. I think…. I think my eyes have been opened.”
