[Commencing Reboot…..]

“Tomo, wake up! We will be late….” Tomoya slowly opened her eyes to see Milim shaking her somewhat violently.

“Milim, stop shaking me. I will die….” Tomoya mumbled, but as her mind slowly became a wake, she shot up in bed and looked around. “I could have sworn I just died…..”

“What are you talking about? You just woke up. Were you dreaming?” Milim was confused. She touched Tomoya’s head and gazed at her with a look of concern. “You don’t seem sick….”

“Maybe it was a dream…. But I think I should go and check first…. Milim…. Tell them to wait a bit longer; I will be right back.” Tomoya got out of bed and got dressed before jumping out of the window and disappearing. Milim wanted to chase after her, but Shuna stopped her.

“Let her go. Tomo never does things without a reason. For now, let’s get you dressed.” Shuna pulled Milim to the side and began picking out clothes for her. She, too, was worried, but she would only ask what was going on when Tomoya returned.

Deep in the forest, Tomoya stood in a thicket of trees. “Treyni, come out.”

“How can I help you, Tomoya-sama?” Treyni appeared in front of Tomoya with a smile.

“Who are you?” Tomoya asked, quickly going on guard. “Are you really Treyni, of the dryad race who only cares about guarding the Jura Forest?”

“Why would you ask such a silly question of course, that is not the case….” Treyni’s expression slowly changed to that of one filled with malice. “You have destroyed this world cycle. You have made it so that this world will never reset. I do not like this. You meddling in my world.”

“Oh? Its as if you are the one who created this world. Don’t tell me you are the author of this story.” Tomoya grinned as she drew her sword.

“Killing Treyni will not kill me. So, I would put the sword away. Although I do wish to know, how did you block me from stopping your rebirth? An otherworlder is someone who is not part of the story. Someone who should not exist in this world. I do not believe I wrote anything about you before.”

“So, I can assume you truly are the author…. Heh… to think you would be able to enter your own world like this. You are made that I broke your cycle. Were you planning to write about this world until the day you die, leaving it unfinished? This world’s cycle is already broken. If you kill me, nothing will change this. The stupid goddess who sent me out to this place is much more powerful than you, dear author… But don’t worry, I plan to make your characters live good lives. I will give them a life much better than you ever did.” Tomoya grinned as she slipped her sword back into its sheath. It seemed the person who was borrowing Treyni’s body was supposedly the author.   Whether this was true or not, she did not know, but….

“Let’s make it so you can never come here again, shall we?” Tomoya licked her lips. She stared into Treyni and saw the two souls inhabiting her body. One green and one pale blue. She reached out with her finger and sent a stream of light into Treyni’s body.

“What!? What are you doing!?” The supposed author cried out. Just before Tomoya could snatch the soul out of Treyni’s body, it suddenly disappeared. “It seems the Jura Forest needs a bit more protection….”

Not wanting to have those close to her having their bodies stolen, Tomoya waved her hand and sent out a blast of spirit magic that cut through the entirety of Jura forest, making it impossible for that soul to steal another person’s body. Just to be sure of this, she erected a barrier made of spirit magic that locks that one particular soul out.

“That takes care of that….” Tomoya let out a sigh of relief. She never wanted to experience that again. But one thing good did come of this and that was she figured out what the guidebook was truly used for. It seemed her writing her entries into the book was the right thing to do even if she did not mean to do it this way. “I wonder if there are other worlds that also have the author’s soul locked to it…. Or was that the author to begin with or maybe just some otherworlder transported here by accident….” Tomoya had a lot of questions but no answers.

“Damn it!” Sitting high above Jura Forest, a small figure of a young man sat on a cloud looking down at the tree tops below. “Just who the hell is this person? I no longer have control of this world. Everything I wrote is changing. It doesn’t make sense…. Isn’t this my world!? Didn’t I create this world? Are I not supposed to be the god of this world!?”

The more the figure thought about it the angrier they got. “What if I created something new? What if I added to the story?”

Interesting... Fun fact about the author: Fuse, the Blummond guild master is his self insert into the story and he has admitted that he enjoys watching himself be mildly tortured by Rimuru's crazy antics.

Also, thank you for the chapter!
