I loved watching this movie with you, although I must admit that too often what I felt was anger. Anger at the blind and stupid prejudice that would have kept these women, whose brilliant minds were so extraordinary, from reaching their potential and would have also resulted in a great loss for all of humanity. This is where the true greatness of film can really change our outlook on things. I never heard of these women until this movie came out and yet their contribution was so enormous to the space program. Thank goodness their achievements have been recognized at last. And let us just hope that going forward other talented people of color and other minorities will not be hindered by truely ridiculous and hateful attitudes. Watching this with you was a privilege.

This is such a great movie! Teraji, Octavia and Janelle portrayed those characters so well. Another great movie that Teraji was in recently (I believe it was in 2019), is called The Best of Enemies. She starred in that alongside Sam Rockwell (the guy from The Green Mile, who killed the little girls).

You just said it BJ. You knew nothing about these women. Hence the title of the movie Hidden Figures. I knew nothing about these women either. I’m so glad this movie was made.
