I was thinking that too, but then why would he go back and do the "song and dance" when they hired him on the spot? They said they were going to call him back in a week originally before he decided to go back in and try them a second time, and then he does the bridge burning thing with them. Maybe so he wouldn't have to ever talk to them again after he had decided he was going to steal the figurine? I dunno... it's a bit of blurry reasoning in that sequence.

I think he just figured “these guys are so dumb, I won’t be able to help myself but to get something over on them”. And he doesn’t want to lose his license. I think he thought about the figurine later. The boss’s kid said he was going to junk it all anyway.

47:00 when jimmy realizes that chuck got fired because of him from the insurance thing, he just breaks emotionally. I really think in this moment he remembers the last thing chuck said to him before he died in the episode prior, "why have regrets when you just keep hurting people", he realizes he shouldnt have regrets because he seemingly will never stop this cycle and he doesnt until he is in prison
